Four vertical legs extend downwardly from the top and the top and the legs have first and second inwardly turned flanges along their edges. Seismic clamps may be slid along these inwardly turned flanges so that they rest over the position of a stud behind wallboard so that the stand can be secured to a wall to hold the hot water heater securely during an earthquake.

摘要： A walled enclosure assembly adapted to be installed around the base of a water-containing appliance and bonded to the support floor to contain leakage therefrom without disturbing the appliance. The walled assembly comprises a plurality of wall segments, each having base flange, an upright wall and wall ends, each adapted to be bonded to the end of an aligned wall segment to form a continuous walled enclosure assembly. The assembly is designed to surround the base of a water-containing appliance, with the undersurfaces of the base flanges being bonded to the supporting floor to contain any leakage from the appliance. Preferably an integral drain tube is incorporated, and/or an automatic alarm means is attached which is activatable to signal excessive leakage.

The stand assembly includes height-adjustable foot members to adapt the stand assembly to uneven floor surfaces.

A method of producing a high-efficiency insulated water heater including the steps of forming a plurality of cut-outs in the bottom of the base pan having an outer edge, inserting feet into the cut-outs in such a way that the feet have upper portions extending above the bottom of the pan and lower portions extending below the bottom of the pan and wherein the upper portions of the feet have inclined centering surfaces located substantially equidistant from the base pan outer edge. The bottom of the water tank is then positioned over the base pan and within a retaining wall extending around the outer edge of the base pan, the tank being lowered into engagement with the centering surfaces of the feet. An outer jacket is positioned around the water tank and into engagement with the base pan retaining wall to form an intervening annular space. Insulation material is then introduced into the concentrically-oriented annular space.
