摘要： A false ceiling having flexible material connected to an elongate U-shaped beam or rail, the beam fixedly connected to existing trusses via clamps. The U-shaped beam has a pair of vertical flanges with inner surfaces for receiving an end portion of the flexible material. Strips of hook-and-loop material are fixed on the inner surfaces of the vertical flanges for gripping corresponding hook-and-loop material strips on the end portions of the flexible material. Lightweight foam blocks are sized to tightly fit between the pair of vertical flanges to assist the connection of the hook-and-loop material strips on the flexible material to the vertical flanges. A decorative cap is connected to the beam to cover the connections of the beam to the truss and to the flexible material.

摘要： A cladding system for walls or ceilings of a building structure consisting of a panel or panels that are sectioned so as to provide a variety of aesthetics. The sections in the panel may be joined along articulated lines of joinder so that an entire panel comprised of a plurality of sections can be expanded or retracted to either cover or selectively expose the wall or ceiling across which the system is mounted. The sections in a panel may be cellular and may thereby form a honeycomb-type panel, and the materials from which the panels are made may vary between being rigid, flexible, hard, soft, flat, reflective, and the like. Panels can be supported with side rails extending along, each side of the panel while not requiring cross rails so that, for example, when a panel is used in a ceiling system and retracted from its expanded condition beneath a ceiling structure, generous access is provided to the ceiling structure for repair or other work on utilities such as plumbing, electrical, and the like that are found embedded in the ceiling. Intermediate rails, parallel to the side rails, can also be provided, if necessary, to support a panel along intermediate portions thereof or between adjacent panels. The supporting rails for the panels can take on numerous configurations so as to support the panels in varied ways depending to some degree upon the particular panel construction being utilized.

Clip mechanisms formed from a pair of interlocking clip members are secured to the sign panel along its edges. The clip members include an insertion member and a mating generally "U" or "C"-shaped securing member. The clip mechanisms are hooked to the frame or housing by mating elongated ridge members. A clamping tool is used to mate the ridge member on the clip mechanisms with the ridge member on the frame members. Edge trim cap members clip onto the frame extensions and clip mechanisms to finish the edges of the sign assembly.

摘要： A method of installing insulation under a pre-existing roof of a building of a type having a spaced apart structural beams standing in one direction under the roof and a plurality of spaced apart elongated purlins extending transversely to the structural beams and being supported by the structural beams. Purlin clips are used which connect to the purlins at the top and to a lower support member at the bottom thereof. The method includes installing an upper support member across from one to the other of an adjacent pair of purlins. An upper strip of insulation is positioned between adjacent pairs of purlins above the upper support member whereby the strip of insulation will be supported by the upper support member. A lower strip of insulation is attached at one end into one of the structural beams, under the upper layer of insulation, and to the other of the structural beams at the other end thereof. A lower support member is then attached between adjacent purlin clips and under the lower strip of insulation for supporting the under side of the lower strip of insulation. The upper support member or members are then removed so that the upper strip of insulation will move down and be supported on top of the lower strip of insulation.

摘要： The wall covering assembly includes a flexible, resilient, preferably sound-deadening, fire-resistant sheet of wall covering, preferably of plastic and/or cloth. The assembly also includes one or a spaced number of preferably parallel wall covering anchoring strips releasably connected to the rear of the wall covering. The strips can be anchored to the exposed surface of a wall to hold the wall covering over and spaced from the wall. Each strip may be of plastic, wood, metal, ceramic or the like and includes a rear base plate adapted to be connected, as by adhesive, screws, etc. to a wall. It also includes a front plate spaced forward of the base plate by integral struts, preferably parallel therewith and defining therebetween an acoustical space. The front plate bears anchoring hooks attachable to the rear of the wall covering. Preferably, the strips bear breakaway segments on one side thereof, removably blocking access to the space. When the segments are removed, ends of the wall covering can be reflected into the space. Segment-bearing sides may be flat, rounded or tapered. The assembly permits rapid efficient attachment of acoustical coverings to walls.A prefabricated panel can be constructed using a baseboard with strips secured to the top, and a wall covering secured at its ends to the strips. The baseboard has hanging members for securing the panel to a wall.

摘要： A smooth, flat plastic film sheet forms a ceiling covering. The dimensions of the room are measured. The dimensions are proportionately reduced. A plastic sheet film is prepared to the reduced dimensions. A plastic edge connector is ultrasonically welded to the entire periphery. A connector strip is fastened to the upper wall entirely around the room. Hot air is blown to the top of the room. The edge connector at the edge of the film is snapped into the connector strip, starting at the corners. The film and edge connector are of a plastic that stretches when hot. The edge connector, when completely fitted into the connector strip pulls the film taut as the film shrinks when cooled to room temperature to provide a perfectly fitted, wrinkle free covering. The same invention may be used to cover a wall. The special edge connector is provided with a snap latching feature to provide audible indication of correct locking in place and the edge connector has a provision for easy unlatching for removing the covering.
