摘要： The invention relates to a heat sink comprising a diamond-containing composite material. In addition to a diamond content of 40-90% by volume, the composite material further comprises from 0.005 to 12% by volume of a silicon-carbon compound, from 7 to 49% by volume of an Ag-, Au- or Al-rich phase and less than 5% by volume of a further phase, with the volume ratio of the Ag-, Au or Al-rich phase to silicon carbide being greater than 4 and at least 60% of the diamond surface being covered by the silicon-carbon compound. Preferred production processes include atmospheric pressure and pressure-aided infiltration techniques. The component is suitable, in particular, as heat sink for semiconductor components.

摘要： Multiphase metal oxide ceramic compositions suitable for use in microwave band filters for telecommunications equipment are composites of metal oxides which comprise, on an elemental weight basis, about 42 to about 50% aluminum, about 2.5 to about 6% titanium, about 0.05 to about 1.5% niobium, about 0.04 to about 1% barium, about 0.03 to about 0.7% zirconium, about 0.01 to about 0.3% manganese, up to about 2.5% nickel, and up to about 4% zinc, wherein the aluminum and titanium are present in the composition, as metal oxides, in an elemental weight ratio of Al:Ti in the range of about 8:1 to about 17:1. The ceramic compositions have a resonant frequency, f, in the range of about 2.4 to about 10 GHz, a quality factor, Q, of at least about 4000, a dielectric constant, K, in the range of about 10 to about 15, and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency, Tf in the range of about −20 ppm to about +20 ppm. Metal oxide powder compositions useful for preparing the dielectric ceramic compositions and a method of making the ceramic compositions are also described.

摘要： Disclosed are processes and compositions for fabricating irradiation targets from slurry compositions using a slip casting method to form a layer of the slurry composition on a substrate. The layer of slurry is allowed to dry on the substrate to produce a green cast layer that may then be cut, milled or otherwise machined to form intermediate targets having one or more predetermined configurations. These intermediate targets are subsequently subjected to a thermal process by which organic components remaining in the green cast layer are driven off and/or oxidized to form a densified, substantially inorganic, layer that has a density below that of the primary particles.

摘要： In methods of manufacturing optical components for infrared-light or ultraviolet-light applications, by lessening the expense consumed during finishing processes, a technique for manufacturing ceramic optical components inexpensively is realized. Raw material powders whose main constituent is ZnS, ZnSe or Ge, for ceramics for infrared-light optical components, and whose main constituent is CaF2 or MaF2, for ceramics for ultraviolet-light optical components, are molded into green bodies; the green bodies are sintered into sinters; and by pressing the sinters through a heating and compressing process, net-shape ceramic sinters can be produced. Alternatively, a finishing process is carried out after they are pressed and deformed into near-net shape. By shaping into net shape or near-net shape, the finishing process can be omitted, or the finishing process time and processing expense taken up can be decreased.

摘要： A susceptor for semiconductor manufacturing equipment obtained by laminating plural aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramic substrates with a high melting point metallic layer and an adhesive layer, and in particular, the aluminum nitride (AlN) ceramic substrate contains a compound of a Group 3a element in an amount of from 0.01 to 1% by weight in terms of the element, and the balance consisting essentially of aluminum nitride (AlN), in which the average particle size of an AlN crystal is from 2 to 5 &mgr;m. The susceptor is prepared by obtaining substrates from a mixture of the material powders through the steps of molding, sintering in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at 1,600 to 2,000° C. and forming into a desired substrate shape, and then laminating a plurality of the thus obtained substrate with a high melting point metallic layer and an adhesive layer inserted between the substrates, firing the laminate in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at 1,500 to 1,700° and finishing the fired laminate.
