    • A load cell alignment apparatus for aligning a load cell during an axial tension test of a brake cable. The apparatus includes a mounting structure, an alignment structure, a biasing device, and the load cell. The alignment structure is connected between the mounting structure and the biasing device. The biasing device is connected to the load cell and applies a tension preload to the load cell, and the alignment structure, in response to the tension preload, properly aligns the load cell with an axis for subsequent measurement of applied tension on the brake cable. The alignment structure permits only linear axial tension to be applied to the load cell in response to application of a further tension load on the load cell.

    • A park interlock device for a land-based vehicle including a driver-selectable shifter for selecting a respective one of the propulsion modes of the vehicle is provided. The device includes a generally elongated, hollowed body. The device further includes an actuating rod configured to be axially disposed in said hollowed body. The actuating rod is responsive to increments in linear motion produced when the shifter is set to a new propulsion mode. A detent assembly is configured to securely engage into a respective one of a plurality of notches in correspondence with a selected propulsion mode of the vehicle. A plunger is disposed at one end of the actuating rod. The plunger is mechanically biased and is responsive to axial movement of the actuating rod due to the linear motion produced when the shifter is set to a new propulsion mode to selectively reach a desired interlocking state for every propulsion mode of the vehicle without performing any conversion from linear to rotational motion in the park interlock device.

    • The release mechanism includes a hollow abutment member (36) fastened to one end of the flexible outer conduit (8) of the cable.     • A bicycle cable disc brake is provided with a cam assembly that has improved efficiency during movement under high pressure. Basically, the cable disc brake has a cable housing, a pair of friction members and an actuated mechanism. The first friction member is movably coupled to the caliper housing between a release position and a braking position. The second caliper is also coupled to the caliper housing and arranged substantially parallel to the first friction member to form a rotor receiving slot therebetween. The actuated mechanism is movably coupled to the caliper housing to move the first friction member from the release position towards the second friction member to the braking position. The actuated mechanism has a pair of cam members movably arranged between an axially retracted position and an axially extended position with a guide member interconnecting the cam members during movement between the axial retracted position and the axially extended position. In the preferred embodiment, the guide member is a guide pin that extends from one of the cam members and is received in a bore of the other cam member.
