Some of which posts are located to each side of the opening, a take-up spool and a supply spool rotatively mounted in the housing, and a thermal ink transfer ribbon supply wrapped around the supply spool and extending to the take-up spool threaded from and between the post and extending through the opening. The opening is located to receive a thermal print head therein such that the transfer ribbon traverses below the print element of the thermal print head. Slots are formed in the respective forward and rear wall, a first post to the take-up side of the aperture is positionably mounted in the slots such that the angle downstream of the opening may be selectively changed.

摘要： Apparatus is disclosed for use with printers (or plotters) for storing and transferring ink-containing ribbon cassettes between a print head and a storage location. The printers (or plotters) are of the type which include a print head that is not as wide as the width of the medium to be printed on so that the print head has to be moved to print (or plot) across the full width of the medium. The apparatus automatically removes a cassette mounted to the movable carriage to which the print head is also mounted and deposits it in the storage station, and automatically removes a selected cassette from the storage station and deposits it on the print carriage. The apparatus includes cassette holders at the storage location and a cassette holder mounted to the print carriage. The storage station is positioned in or adjacent the path of travel of the print carriage, and the apparatus holding the cassettes at the storage station may be indexed to position a particular cassette holder into alignment with the cassette holder mounted to the carriage. The cassette holders have cooperating structure which automatically engage each other when the holders are aligned and are moved one into the other to automatically and directly transfer a cassette from one holder to the other.

摘要： A cartridge for a typing ribbon for typewriters comprises a container for accommodating a typing ribbon which can be of single-strike correctable or non-correctable, multi-strike or endless inked type. If the ribbon is of the single-strike or multi-strike type, the container comprises a supply reel and a tensioning and stop device co-operating with a toothed flange of the supply reel to prevent the ribbon which is wound on the supply reel from unwinding both when the container is mounted on the machine and when it is removed from the machine. The device comprises a tensioning lever for the ribbon and a stop lever for the reel, which levers are connected together by means of a resilient spring connection. The device guides and tensions the ribbon during the unidirectional feed movement thereof, in such a way as to ensure a constant stepping movement in the feed motion of the ribbon and low and constant tensioning of the ribbon. If the ribbon is of the inked type, the container comprises a magazine for accommodating the ribbon which is disposed in randomly distributed loops, a feed roller which drives in rotation a first feed wheel for producing a feed movement of the ribbon, together with a pressure roller for introduction of the ribbon into the magazine.
