摘要： A skin material (5) including an impregnable fiber layer is overlapped and bonded onto a top surface of a base material (3) including a base material cleavage groove (13) having a predetermined depth from a rear surface of the base material (5) toward the top surface thereof. A skin cleavage groove (11) having a predetermined depth and corresponding to the base material cleavage groove (11) of the base material (3) is provided on a rear surface side of the skin material (5), the rear surface side being a bonding surface side to be overlapped and bonded onto the base material (3). Meanwhile, to facilitate cleavage, the skin cleavage groove (11) is provided inside a region of a hardened layer subjected to a hardening process by using a hardening agent.

The synthetic fibres are meltable bicomponent fibres which are heated prior to entanglement to fuse and form a supporting network for the leather fibres. A sheet of tissue paper (1a) is laid over the surface of the leather fibre web (4) and hydroentanglement jets (16) are directed through the tissue paper into the web.

The method including providing a work material such as a hide, and a backing material and moving one of the work material and the backing material into engagement with one another and adhesively bonding the backing material to the work material thereby forming a laminate. The apparatus includes a first support surface for carrying a work material, a second support surface positioned adjacent the first support surface, and means for transferring the work material between the first and second support surfaces. A roll of backing material is rotatably and operably positioned relative to the first and second support surfaces so that during movement of the work material between the first and second support surfaces the backing material can be fed from the roll into engagement with a surface defined by the work material to form a laminate.
