    • A container for storing and dispensing liquid includes a housing having a primary fluid storage cavity for a first liquid, for example, concentrated hydrogen peroxide, and a separate reservoir chamber within the housing so that a second diluent liquid within the reservoir chamber is normally isolated from the primary liquid and storage cavity. An internally movable member within the housing cooperates with the reservoir chamber to form a detent structure which provides selective interference reinforcement to ensure the integrity of sealing between the reservoir chamber and the cavity. The movable member is selectively displaced to relieve the interference reinforcement and sealing and to create a pathway for flow communication from the chamber into the cavity enabling an inter-mixture of the second diluent fluid and the primary fluid. For example, a diluent such as water can be stored and selectively dilute the residue of a primary hydrogen peroxide solution sufficiently to a reduced concentration which will be non-hazardous in subsequent general refuse disposal. In the illustrated embodiment, the reservoir chamber is formed within a cap structure on the housing in which a metallic foil wall forms the upper wall of both the reservoir chamber and the cap. A tubular conduit extends from and selectively moves with respect to the cap. The detent structure includes a catch structure peripherally formed on the tubular conduit and a seat structure engaged by the catch structure is formed on the reservoir chamber so that selective movement of the tubular conduit relieves the interference reinforcement and sealing by the detent structure when the primary and second fluids are intermixed.

    • An apparatus for removing the slack from motorized cables used to control doors on sterilizers and autoclaves without the need for electro-mechanical brakes or oversized gear motors. The apparatus is adapted to be used with a door systems wherein a cable having the one end thereof attached to a motorized take-up drum and the other end thereof attached to a slack removing weight is used control the opening and closing of a door. The apparatus includes a stop plate that is rigidly fastened to the sterilizer or autoclave and a corresponding stop member that is rigidly attached to the cable. The stop plate, in conjunction with the stop member, serve to restrict the movement of the cable in only one direction thus keeping the portion of cable supporting the door taut. When additional cable is unwound from the take-up drum, the slack weight causes the cable to move in a direction away from the stop plate to keep the cable taut. The present invention also affords the gear motor controlling the take-up drum with an amount of time to develop the amount of torque required to lift the door and overcome the inertia of the system. In addition, monitoring means may be added to monitor the movement of the slack weight to determine whether the door has jammed.

The system includes generally a dew point sensor, a device for measuring at least one additional property of at least the other vapor such as relative humidity, and a microprocessor for fitting the dew point and additional property measurements into a modeled construct representative of the relationship between the vapors at a plurality of concentrations for each such vapor and at a plurality of corresponding dew point measurements. When used to determine the concentration of sterilant vapor in a sterilization system, the system also includes a sterilization chamber and an injector for injecting a measured quantity of the multicomponent condensable vapor into the chamber.

    • A failure compensation circuit automatically reduces the output voltage of a power supply when a portion of a load drops out. The compensation circuit includes a circuit for generating a control signal representative of the desired voltage across the load. A power supply supplies voltage to the load in response to the control signal. An input signal representative of the current delivered to the load is produced which decreases whenever a portion of the load drops out. The circuit for generating the control signal is responsive to the input signal for adjusting the control signal such that when the current delivered to the load decreases, the voltage delivered to the load is automatically reduced.
