    • Disclosed is a subjective optometric apparatus in which the earpiece members and the nose pad member for attaching the main body of the device to the subject can be easily adjusted without involving any effort. The subjective optometric apparatus has a horizontal frame and an inner tube inserted into the horizontal frame, with a support bar for supporting a nose pad member being passed through the horizontal frame and the inner tube. In a state in which the inner tube is being biased by a spring, a rubber member provided in a through-hole of the inner tube abuts the peripheral surface of the support bar to lock the support bar, thereby bringing the nose pad member into a locked state. Further, when a push-button is pushed in against the biasing force of the spring, the inner tube is displaced and the rubber member is detached from the peripheral surface of the support bar, with the result that the nose pad member is released from the locked state and becomes capable of being displaced.

    • A glaucoma diagnosis apparatus for determining thickness of nerve fiber layers. The apparatus includes an illuminating optical system for illuminating the ocular fundus of an eye to be examined with circularly polarized illuminating light and an imaging optical system including a CCD camera for photographing the image of an ocular fundus based on the reflected illuminating light from the ocular fundus and has a polarizing filter provided integrally with the imaging surface of the CCD camera. The filter includes repetitions of a unit platelet having a couple of polarizing microplates which transmit those linearly polarized light components crossing with each other out of the reflected illuminating light and adjacent polarizing microplates which transmit linearly polarized light components in direction crossing with both of the above/mentioned linearly polarized light components of the reflected illuminating light. Evaluation of a phase change of the circularly polarized illuminating light can be used to determine the nerve fiber layer thickness.

    • An autolensmeter for inspecting refracting power of optical systems is herein disclosed, which comprises a collimater lens for projecting light from a light source onto an optical system to be examined as a parallel luminous flux, a mask means having a mask pattern for selectively transmitting the luminous flux from the optical system and a photodetecting means for receiving the luminous flux partially transmitted through the mask pattern, disposed at a non-image forming position of the optical system, characterized in that an optical element is arranged in close vicinity of the mask pattern so that the light source and the photodetecting means are in an optical conjugate relationship with each other. The automlensmeter masks it possible to enlarge the width of the effective luminous flux for measuring the refracting power of the optical system without reducing the sharpness of the pattern projected on the photodetecting means and thereby eliminating the requirements for the use of photodetecting means of a high sensitivity and light sources of a high luminance and the accuracy of measurement being not influenced by the presence of, for instance dusts and/or water drops on the optical system and/or the mask means.
