    • A cap includes a cap body attached to a discharge port portion of a container and having a pouring port through which a content of the container can be discharged, and a lid pivotally supported by the cap body and capable of opening and closing the pouring port. The cap is provided with: a pushing member whose intermediate portion is pivotally supported by a pivotally supporting portion on a side surface of the cap body, the pushing member being swingable about the pivotally supporting portion; and a thin-walled hinge for connecting an end portion of the pushing member and a rotatably supporting portion of the lid, the thin-walled hinge being adapted to convert swinging motion of the pushing member into motion for opening or closing the lid as an upper portion or a lower portion of the pushing member is operated by being pushed.

    • An automatic brake control apparatus includes a pressure intensifying solenoid valve in a hydraulic brake line connecting a source of hydraulic pressure with a brake, as well as a pressure reducing solenoid valve in a relief line branched from the brake line and connected to a low pressure reservoir. A pressure sensor is positioned to sense a hydraulic pressure in the brake line at a position downstream of a point where the relief line branches from the brake line. A controller receives a signal from the pressure sensor and determines desired brake pressure for producing a desired speed reduction rate. The controller outputs control signals to the pressure intensifying solenoid valve and the pressure reducing solenoid valve such that the detected brake pressure corresponds to the desired brake pressure. The apparatus may be incorporated into a brake pressure control valve having first and second stages.

    • A four-wire electrostatic actuator including: a stator having a substrate with two surfaces and at least four main-movement linear electrodes separately provided on one surface of the substrate and arranged in parallel at regular intervals; and a movable element disposed on the stator. The first and third main-movement linear electrodes of the four main-movement linear electrodes are supplied with rectangular wave signals or sine wave signals with reversed phases. The second and fourth main-movement linear electrodes are supplied with rectangular wave signals or sine wave signals with reversed phases. The two signals inputted to the adjacent two electrodes are shifted from each other by a quarter of a period with identical strength. The stator further includes a plurality of one-side auxiliary-movement linear electrodes on one side of the four main-movement linear electrodes, the auxiliary-movement linear electrodes being extended perpendicularly to the four main-movement linear electrodes.
