    • A water removing composition suitable for use in treating solid surfaces which comprises (a) a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent, (b) at least one member selected from the group consisting of amines having an oxyalkylene group, their salts with an organic acid of the formula, R.sup.1 COOH, HOOCR.sup.2 COOH, R.sup.1 SO.sub.3 H, R.sup.1 OPO.sub.3 H or (R.sup.1 O).sub.2 PO.sub.2 H, wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may be substituted with a hydroxyl group or an alkylphenyl group having 7 to 26 carbon atoms and R.sup.2 is an alkylene group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and quaternary ammonium salts composed of an ammonium having an oxyalkylene group and an acid radical of the above-mentioned organic acids, and (c) at least one substituted amine salt with dialkyl sulfosuccinate of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is as defined above, and R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are the same or different and each is hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms which may be substituted with a hydroxyl group or a polyoxyalkylene group, provided that all R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are not hydrogen at the same time. The composition can quickly and completely remove water from solid surfaces and can quickly and completely separate the removed water from the solvent, and also can exhibit such excellent effects stably even in use for a long period of time.

    • The present invention has an object to provide a cold cathode field-emission electron gun with low aberration, to thereby provide a high-brightness electron gun even in the case of a large current. The present invention provides a field-emission electron gun which extracts an electron beam from a cathode and converges the extracted electron beam, the field-emission electron gun including: a magnetic field lens which is provided such that the cathode is disposed inside of a magnetic field of the lens; and an extraction electrode for extracting electrons from the cathode, the extraction electrode being formed into a cylindrical shape without an aperture structure. The present invention can provide an electron gun having a function of converging an electron beam using a magnetic field, the electron gun which is capable of reducing an incidental electrostatic lens action and has small aberration and high brightness.
