    • An arrangement (10) for noise rise estimation comprises a front end signal conditioning arrangement (9) and an interference whitener (14) connected thereto. The interference whitener (10) is arranged for providing interference whitening of a front end signal. A processor (20) is arranged for measuring received total wideband power received at the front end signal conditioning arrangement (9) a plurality of times. An estimate of a noise floor measure is computed by the processor (20) based on the measured received total wideband powers. The processor (20) determines an equivalent total wideband power of the output from the interference whitener (14). The processor (20) also calculates a noise rise measure, based on the equivalent total wideband power and the noise floor measure, and compensates the noise rise measure for the interference whitening. A digital receiver (12) is connected to the output from the interference whitener (14).

    • The present invention relates to a positioning node and method for determining a position of a target UE in a cellular mobile telecommunication network. The network comprises means for identifying the RBS that the target UE is connected to, whereby the location of the identified RBS is known, and means for selecting a first and a second additional UE, wherein at least one of the first and second additional UEs is connected to a RBS that is different from the RBS that the target UE is connected to.     • A method in conjunction with positioning of a mobile terminal in a cellular telecommunication system is disclosed. According to the method, an end user's requested positioning accuracy for the positioning of the mobile terminal is determined (510). Also, an estimated confidence value for the positioning of the mobile terminal is determined (520), and so is a required confidence value for the end user (530). Then, a pre-scale value is produced (540) based on at least the estimated confidence value and the required confidence value. The pre-scale value is applied (550) to the requested positioning accuracy to obtain a pre-scaled requested positioning accuracy. Then, the pre-scaled requested positioning accuracy is sent (560) in the cellular telecommunication system towards the mobile terminal.
