    • The present invention addresses generating of feasible high precision indoor positioning measurements. A positioning server sets up an interface to which ordinary users may connect with their cellular phones. Using this interface the user can select one out of a plurality of indoor locations where the cellular operator wishes to have high precision position reference measurements performed. The user moves to said indoor location and initiates at this location, by interaction with said interface, the reference measurement. By logging an identity of the user or the time of the positioning the selected indoor location can be correlated to a determined tag in the RAN. The tag together with the indoor location that has been selected by help of the interface towards the positioning server constitutes one tagged high precision position measurement.

    • An inherent non-observability of the thermal noise power level is circumvented by estimating an upper limit of the thermal noise power level by time evaluations. An instantaneous total received wideband power is measured in a receiver. Preferably, also an instantaneous sum of powers of all links used in the same cell is provided. A quantity (P′), preferably the difference between the instantaneous total received wideband power and the instantaneous sum of powers of all links used in the same cell, is followed (110) during a time period (TLag). A minimum value (PMIN) of that quantity is then used as an estimate of the thermal noise power level upper limit. Preferably, the time period is configured as a sliding window. An improved determination of noise rise can then be calculated and used for controlling traffic within the cell.

    • Methods and arrangements for providing load reference data in a CDMA wireless communication system with receiver diversity are presented. The method comprises measuring (210) of received total wideband power for more than one receiver branch. Probability distributions for a respective power quantity are estimated (212), related to selected state variables of an estimation algorithm, from quantities representing the measured powers using selected measurement functions of the selected state variables of the estimation algorithm. The selected state variables correspond to cell power quantities and the selected measurement functions correspond to the quantities representing the measured powers. A conditional probability distribution of noise floor measures for the respective branches are computed (214) based on the estimated probability distributions. The method ends with provision (216) of load reference data based on the computed conditional probability distributions of the noise floor measures.
