The bandwidth size to be used during the silence period can be set to the bandwidth required for the transmission of an SID packet. To divide the talk spurt and the silence period, a user equipment uses two types of CQICH code words, so that a base station therefore performs scheduling in an efficient manner.

The control messages included in each of the groups generated by grouping are equal in at said least one criteria.
