The input admittance of a transformation network having the nature of a low loss filter for low amplitude, high-frequency reception signals, has a counter-coupling and linearizing effect in the high-frequency connection between the source connector of the three-pole amplification element and the second connector of the passive antenna part. The transformation network is loaded with a continuing circuit at its output. There is at least one adjustable electronic element, responsive to a control amplifier connected to the output of the active amplifier for adjustably lowering the reception level, and disposed in the transformation network, so that the input admittance of the transformation network, that has the linearizing effect, is reduced, if there is a reduction of the high-frequency reception signal.

The system includes an antenna arrangement which supplies the reception signal to a radio receiver. The antenna arrangement is an antenna system having several individual antennas and several antenna components, and contains a controllable logic switching device. The individual antennas and the several antenna components are positioned on the vehicle so that different reception signals are available at the antenna connection point via discrete switching positions of a controllable logic switch. A reception level testing device comparatively determines the reception level contained in the data flow in the HF-channel with an HF channel bandwidth B. The level testing device is designed so that when initiated by the symbol cycle generated in the receiver and during the simultaneously occurring symbol identification of the received flow of data, the reception level is determined in each case within the shortest possible level testing duration.

    • A self-oscillating inverted rectifier has a series-resonant circuit connected between a load and the selector terminal of an electronically controllable switch, the other terminals of which are connected respectively to d.c. sources of different potential. Phase detection and feedback circuits provide a rectangular control wave for connecting and disconnecting the resonant circuit to each d.c. source only at null transits of the current in the resonant circuit. The feedback circuit includes a control circuit supplied with a regulation voltage, which may be derived from the load, whereby the switch is intermittently prevented from connecting the resonant circuit to energizing d.c. for an integral number of half cycles of the resonant frequency. The load may be a high-frequency electrosurgical device or, more generally, a rectifier circuit providing accurately regulated d.c. power to a variable load.

    • A power amplifier driven in the switching mode is started into oscillation by a pulse from an auxiliary oscillator when it is first activated. Reactive currents thereby resulting in an output filter network, containing a series resonant circuit followed by a parallel resonant circuit which is connected across a load impedance, then produce the switching in of a feedback circuit, after which the amplifier oscillates in a self-excited mode, at a frequency determined by the tuning of the resonant circuits. Branch circuits connected to the output filter network determine whether the load impedance is above or below the characteristic impedance value, which is a function of the inductance in the series resonant circuit and the capacitance in the parallel resonant circuit, and control an electronic switch which enables current-driven feedback when the load impedance is below the characteristic value and enables voltage feedback when the load impedance is above the characteristic value, thus providing the more stable type of feedback consistently, even though the load may fluctuate greatly. The electronic switch preferably operates with some hysteresis. This high frequency power oscillator adjusts itself automatically to mistuning of the output filter network as well as to large fluctuations of load impedance. The loss power in the amplifying elements of the power amplifier is very low and the efficiency very high.

The antenna diversity system optionally switches through at least one of two available antennas and has a signal level testing device with its input coupled to the receiver and its output coupled to the antenna switch. This is to provide an indication for the need for antenna switching to avoid signal loss by means of a signal at its output, whereby the phase reference signals occur repeatedly in a time sequence. A MPSK demodulator having a computer device and coupled to the receiver evaluates the phase reference signals so that when a phase reference signal occurs that carries the current reference phase related to the reference signal, the reference phase is updated in the receiver, thereby causing the subsequently transmitted useful symbols to be detected with the correct phase.
