摘要： A system, method, software arrangement and computer-accessible medium are provided for tracking moveable objects, such as large balls, that a group of participants can interact with. For example, the motion of the objects may be used to control or influence the motion of certain virtual objects generated in a virtual environment, which may interact with other virtual objects. The virtual objects and their interactions may be used to generate video information, which can be displayed to the participants and which may indicate the occurrence of certain game-related events. Audio information may also be generated based on the interactions, and used to produce sounds separately from or in conjunction with the virtual objects.

In an embodiment, the platform may include two layers of distribution, one at the DNS layer and one at an Internet data center layer. The platform may include a dynamic resource allocation manager that causes instances of applications to be initiated in Internet data centers in response to dynamic conditions and characteristics of the application. A monitoring system module may be provided to keep the dynamic resource allocation manager informed as the health and utilization of instances of the application.

摘要： An induction logging tool having concentric transmitter and receiver antennas can be used to make measurements of earth formations at frequencies up to 500 MHz. The antennas may be mounted on the mandrel of a bottomhole assembly for MWD applications, or may be pad mounted for wireline applications. Litz winding is used in the coils to minimize eddy current losses. The antennas may be formed on a flexible circuit board.

For a distributed database, read transactions are executed using a first version of a database. Update transactions are executed such that information is written into a second version of the database. The second version may include less than all of the information contained in the first version. A database version begins to be advanced at each node such that the information in the second version becomes available for read transactions. For an update transaction that starts on a node after the database version has been advanced, the update transaction is executed such that the update transaction writes information into a third version of the database. The advancement of the database version is completed such that the second version becomes the first version and the third version becomes the second version. For a centralized database, the protocol reduces of the number of versions from four to three.

摘要： A token-based protocol used to prevent conflicts between copies of the same data items residing in different servers of a replicated distributed system is provided. The servers in the system with database replicas are provided with token pointers that are each associated with a token. Token pointers are used to track the current possessor of the token. Whenever a server receives or transfers a token, its corresponding token pointer is updated to reflect which server possesses the token. The use of token pointers advantageously eliminates the need for global cooperation by the servers to regenerate a lost token.
