    • A driving system of an liquid crystal display (LCD) device and an LCD driving method in which an insufficient charging of a liquid crystal capacitor caused by a delayed time taken for raising source and gate signals applied to each pixel of the LCD panel to normal voltage levels is overcome by delaying the source signal output by a predetermined number of source driver IC units or by delaying the gate signal that is output by a predetermined number of gate driver IC units, includes a power supply unit, a controller, a gray voltage generating unit, a gate voltage generating unit, a source drive unit, a gate drive unit, and a liquid crystal panel, wherein the source drive unit or the gate drive unit has a delay unit for delaying an enable signal or a load signal, to thereby output delayed source and gate signals. As a result, a charging rate of the liquid crystal capacitor of pixels contained in the liquid crystal panel is enhanced, which prevents a degradation of the screen and ensures a uniformity achieving a large screen and a high resolution.

    • A drive circuit and method for driving a thin film transistor liquid crystal display which reduce kickback voltage by generating a gate drive signal that has a reduced on voltage during a drop portion of the horizontal scanning time. The circuit includes a voltage signal generating circuit for receiving both a common electrode signal and an inverting common electrode signal and generating voltage signals, a drop signal generating circuit for generating drop signals, and a signal mixer circuit for combining the voltage signals and the drop signals and generating a composite output signal. The voltage signal generating circuit and the drop signal generating circuits both include a series of boost stages comprised of diode voltage multipliers. The signal mixing circuit includes a series of switches that are controlled by the drop signals. The length of the drop portion of the horizontal scan time can be controlled by a period control signal.

    • Disclosed is an LCD apparatus having improved display characteristics. A clock generator applies first and second clock signals to a gate driver so as to control a pulse width of a gate driving signal. A discharging transistor connected to first ends of gate lines discharges a present stage before operating a next stage. The gate lines include a first gate driver and a second gate driver for operating the gate lines while the first gate driver is operated in an abnormal state. Accordingly, the LCD apparatus may be operated in high-speed and prevent the gate driving signal from being delayed.
