摘要： The present invention provides a process cartridge removably mounted to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The process cartridge includes; a cartridge frame, an electrophotographic photosensitive member provided within the cartridge frame, a process device for acting on the electrophotographic photosensitive member, a memory device for storing information to be transmitted to the electrophotographic image forming apparatus, a positioning portion for positioning the cartridge frame with respect to the image forming apparatus when the process cartridge is mounted to the image forming apparatus, and an exposure opening provided in the cartridge frame and to pass information light from the image forming apparatus to be illuminated on the electrophotographic photosensitive member when the process cartridge is mounted to the image forming apparatus.

It comprises an electrophotographic photosensitive member, a developing sleeve for supplying magnetic toner to the electrophotographic photosensitive member to develop a latent image formed on the electrophotographic photosensitive member, a magnet disposed within the developing sleeve, and an electrode member for supplying electricity from the image forming apparatus to the developing sleeve when the process cartridge is mounted to the image forming apparatus. 摘要： An elastic regulating member for regulating thickness of a layer of developer conveyed to a developing station by a rotatable developing sleeve is abutted against the developing sleeve. At a toner return inlet of a container associated with the developing sleeve, a flexible sheet for preventing the developer in the container from leaking through the toner return inlet is abutted against the developing sleeve along a longitudinal direction thereof. Side seals are abutted against both longitudinal end portions of the developing sleeve to prevent the developer from leaking through such longitudinal end portions. Both longitudinal end portions of the flexible sheet are overlapped with sheet supporting surfaces formed on extensions of the side seals without any clearance. Further, the both longitudinal end portions of the flexible sheet are abutted against the developing sleeve at areas outwardly of both ends of the elastic regulating member.

摘要： A process cartridge is detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus. The cartridge includes an electrophotographic photosensitive drum, a developing roller, a drum unit containing the drum, a developing unit containing the roller and being movable so the roller contacts and is spaced from the drum, and a first force receiver receiving a force from a main assembly first force applier by movement of a door from open to closed positions when mounting the cartridge and a second force receiver movable from a stand-by position by movement of the first force receiver by a force received from the first force applier. The second force receiver takes a projected position receiving a force from the second force applier to move the developing unit so the roller moves out of contact with the drum, the projected position being higher than the stand-by position.
