    • The present invention relates to cellular radio communication and in particular to providing information on neighbor cells to enable terminals to perform neighbor cell measurements. In the prior art the terminal attempts to make neighbor cell measurements in a reference signal structure that is the same in the neighbor cell as in the cell the terminal camps in. The present invention is based on the insight that the reference signal structure may differ between neighboring cell for example in the situation of an MBSFN area that is restricted to a region of all cells of a radio network, or in the situation of TDD mode being applied there may be different regions with different allocation of sub-frames for transmission in the uplink and downlink directions. The present invention solves the problem by broadcast information in a cell indicative of the reference signal structure in neighbor cells.

A method embodiment for generating reference signals for use between a mobile terminal 10 and an access node 20 in a cellular communication network 100 comprises receiving, by the mobile terminal 10, a cyclic shift set indicator; selecting, from a group of cyclic shift sets, a cyclic shift set based on the received cyclic shift set indicator, each cyclic shift set comprising at least two parameters each indicating a cyclic shift; and generating, based on at least two parameters of the selected cyclic shift set, at least two orthogonal reference signals for at least two layers of a Single User Spatial Multiplexing transmission scheme to be simultaneously transmitted. A further method embodiment comprises selecting, from a plurality of groups of cyclic shift sets, a group of cyclic shift sets based on at least one of a transmission rank, being the number of layers to be simultaneously transmitted, and a number of configured antennas of the mobile terminal 10.

    • The invention relates to a method in a first communication device of receiving control information over a radio channel from a second communication device. The first communication device receives a subframe over the radio channel, and determines whether the subframe is a downlink subframe with downlink assignment intended for the first communication device by reading data in the subframe. That being the case, the first communication device decodes data within the subframe, and determines whether any data packet being sent from the second communication device before the subframe has been missed by analysing an indicator associated to the subframe in the data. The indicator provides knowledge about previous downlink subframes with downlink assignment intended for the first communication device.

    • Embodiments herein include a method in a user equipment (UE) for transmitting uplink control information in time slots of a subframe over a radio channel to a radio base station. The uplink control information is comprised in a block of bits.The UE maps the block of bits to a sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The UE block spreads the sequence across Discrete Fourier Transform Spread—Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFTS-OFDM) symbols. This is performed by applying a spreading sequence to the sequence of complex valued modulation symbols, to achieve a block spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The UE further transforms the block-spread sequence, per DFTS-OFDM symbol. This is performed by applying a matrix that depends on a DFTS-OFDM symbol index and/or slot index to the block-spread sequence. The UE also transmits the block spread sequence, as transformed, over the radio channel to the radio base station.
