    • A motion film projector which comprises an image plane and a gate for holding a frame of a motion picture film to be projected in the image plane. An optical system defines an optical axis, and the frame is located on the optical axis. A focusing device is provided for the optical system. A drive is arranged for feeding the film along a predetermined path including the image plane. The drive has at least two operating modes comprising at least one run mode and a still mode of operation for selectively providing motion picture projection and still picture projection. A focus adjuster is connected to the focusing device to provide a basic adjustment of the same for focusing the frames of the film during the run mode oepration. A mode selector controls the operating modes of the drive and has accordingly at least one run mode position and a still mode position. A coupling member is provided to connect the focusing device to the mode selector. The mode selector further has a plurality of focusing positions adjacent the still mode position. In the focusing positions the coupling member connects the focusing device to the mode selector to override the basic adjustment and to focus the frame individually during the still mode operation.

    • In a camera an objective is provided which defines an optical path having an axis. The objective comprises an adjustable diaphragm arranged within a diaphragm plane, and a neutral density spot cooperating with the diaphragm to diminish light intensity in the diaphragm plane within a central range on the axis. A gate is arranged on the optical path in a plane normal to the axis and receiving light through the objective for exposure of a film having a specific spectral sensitivity. A support is provided to carry the neutral density spot and has at least an inoperative and an operative position, in the operative position the neutral density spot is arranged in a central position on the axis, and in inoperative position the neutral density spot is excentric to the axis. A control device is connected to the support to control its position, the control device having at least two positions according to the spectral composition of light used for exposure of the film, whereby with artificial light the support is in the inoperative position, with day light the support means is in operative position.

    • Strip-handling means are provided for handling a record strip forming a coil on a spool and having a leading end on the outside periphery of said coil. A threading device is movable between an inoperative position and an operative position and is adapted in said operative position to engage the outside periphery of said coil and to remove said leading end from said coil. A final control member has an engaging surface and is operatively connected to said threading device and slidable to an inoperative position and an operative position to move said threading device to its inoperative and operative positions, respectively. A drive member is disposed adjacent to said engaging surface and rotatable on an axis and movable in a direction which is generally radial to said axis into and out of engagement with said engaging surface. Said drive member in engagement with said engaging surface is rotatable to move said final control member to its operative position. A mode control switch is movable to a predetermined position. The strip-handling means are adapted to initiate the unwinding of said strip from said coil when said switch is in said predetermined position. An intermediate control member is operatively connected to said switch and said drive member and arranged to move the latter into engagement with said engaging surface in response to a movement of said switch to said predetermined position.

    • A shuttle cam member is mounted for rotation about an axis. Cam follower means are urged by spring means into engagement with said cam member, which is designed to positively displace said cam follower means to a dead center during a first part of each revolution of said cam member and to permit of a return displacement of said cam follower means by said spring means from said dead center during a second part of each revolution of said cam member. Said cam follower means are adapted to impart to a shuttle member and claw in response to each revolution of said cam member at least one reciprocating movement, at a normal frequency corresponding to a predetermined number of frames per second. Inhibiting means are provided to inhibit said movement of said shuttle member. A detent device comprises a first detent part connected to said shuttle member and a second detent part operatively connected to said inhibiting means. Said first and second detent parts are arranged to be interengaged only during said second part of each revolution of said cam member. Control means are provided for selectively enabling said mechanism to operate at a frequency which is lower than said normal frequency and are movable between operative and inoperative positions and in said operative position are arranged to periodically disengage said first and second detent parts from each other.
