    • An image forming apparatus (1) includes a main body (10), a recording medium accommodating section (20), a paper feed section (30), an upstream conveyance section (60), an image forming section (40), a downstream conveyance section (70), a reverse conveyance section (P2), a covering member (80), and a movable guide section (90). The downstream conveyance section (70) includes an ejection section (50) and a reversing section (73). The covering member (80) moves between a closed position where the upstream conveyance section (60) is composed and an open position where the upstream conveyance section (60) is exposed. The movable guide section (90) moves between a first position where the downstream conveyance section (70) is composed and a second position where the downstream conveyance section is exposed. The movable guide section (90) moves in conjunction with the covering member (80), is located at the first position to guide a recording medium reversed by the reversing section (73) from a first reverse path (Pr1) to a second reverse path (Pr2) when the covering member (80) is located at the closed position, and is located at the second position when the covering member (80) is located at the open position.

    • An apparatus for cooling media sheets in a printer includes a number of cooling units, a conveyor having a first conveyor path adapted to feed the media sheets successively through the cooling units, and a switch adapted to deflect selected ones of the media sheets into a second conveyor path. The switch is disposed upstream of a last one of the cooling units and downstream of a first one of the cooling units. The second conveyor path bypasses the last one of the cooling units. The conveyor includes a decelerating mechanism configured to decelerate the sheets in the first conveyor path between the first one of the cooling units and the last one of the cooling units.

    • An image forming device capable of performing both-side printing, statically transferring, by application of a transfer voltage, an unfixed image formed on an image carrier to a recording sheet when passing through a transfer position, and then thermally fixing the unfixed image when the recording sheet passes through a fixing position where a heating rotating body is disposed. The image forming device acquires an index value of a water content at each of a plurality of sheet-passing-direction positions of the recording sheet having undergone thermal fixing of an unfixed image statically transferred onto a first side thereof, and controls, for each of the positions, a transfer voltage applied for statically transferring an unfixed image onto a second side of the recording sheet, so that the lower the water content indexed by the index value of the position, the greater an absolute value of the transfer voltage.

    • A duplex-printable image forming apparatus which is capable of increasing a speed of duplex printing. The image forming apparatus includes: a developing unit which forms a visible image, which is formed of a developer, on a printing medium; a fixing unit which fixes the visible image formed on the printing medium onto the printing medium; a discharging roller unit which can be regularly/reversely rotated such that the printing medium passed through the fixing unit is conveyed to the developing unit along a duplex printing path or is discharged out of the apparatus; and an intermediate conveying unit which is interposed between the fixing unit and the discharging roller unit and selectively holds the printing medium.
