摘要： Data on a target film image is developed so as to correspond to a predetermined X-Y two-dimensional coordinate system representing a relationship between RGB average data on each constituent pixel and respective color component data, developed pixels are divided to a plurality of groups so that pieces of the RGB average data on the respective pixels are arranged equidistantly, an average of dissociations of the respective pixels relative to a reference line representing characteristics of a film image photographed by a standard light is operated and derived as a group difference sum for each of the divided groups, for each of R, G, and B, a thickness factor for normalizing a distribution thickness of a pixel distribution in a direction in which the pixel distribution is distanced from the reference line is operated and derived, for each of the divided groups, an image difference sum is operated and derived by a product-sum operation between the group difference sum and the thickness factor, and if the image difference sum for the R, G, or B is greater than a predetermined value, the target film image is determined as a photographic image photographed using different types of light sources.

摘要： A base-lock type font holder for imprinting apparatus of the impacting type, the holder comprising selectively spreadable aligned parallel rows of base lock segments which are clamped together within the outwardly opening cavity of a carrier body with the type font seated therein. An internally spring biased ratchet like arrangement facilitates both clamping and retention of the type font therein immovably during as many as several million impacts effected by the imprinting apparatus. The ratchet-like arrangement includes a pair of free-mounted miniature puck members seated at opposite ends of a coil spring, together seated in bearing relation to clamping screws employed to secure the segments within the cavity, and said screws being capable of manual manipulation against the spring bias selectively to spread or clamp said segments.

摘要： A type element interchange mechanism is incorporated into a high speed serial printer with rotary print wheel and linear carriage movement. A number of print wheels are selectively mountable onto a carriage, which carries a print wheel, print hammer, and print hammer solenoid, from one or more removable carousels, each carousel typically carrying several different type font print wheels. Print wheels are transferred directly between the carriage and a carousel, without the necessity of intermediate transfer mechanisms or steps, through the controlled linear translation of the carriage and the carousel. The print wheel-carrying carousel has a plurality of arms and is rotated to present the desired arm in position for transfer of a print wheel with the carriage. Microprocessor controls are provided so that print wheel changes are implemented automatically in response to input signals defining the desired font type. A computer controlled initialization program is provided which in addition to providing a startup and reset procedure also automatically identifies the print wheel identification numbers by reading coded slots located in the center hub of the print wheels.

摘要： Printing apparatus preferably for printing numerals in calculating machines is disclosed, such apparatus having a plurality of substantially sector-shaped-type carrying members, each of such members being pivotally mounted and provided with a predetermined number of illustratively impression-type members movable generally radially in the vicinity of the circumference of the sector-shaped portion. A ratchet mechanism is provided on each of the sector-shaped portions for ruling or interrupting movement of each of the type carrying members. A plurality of spring-loaded printing hammers are arranged to strike the type members to print selected characters, each of the hammers being provided with corresponding linkage for controlling its movement. The entire apparatus is preferably mounted on a laterally movable carriage, and electronic coding and sensing may be provided for controlling the apparatus for example, in the event of computerized operation.
