    • Process using low to medium temperature thermoset epoxy composite materials and an expandable epoxy matrix material to efficiently form high strength composite parts of divers shapes in a single-one-step process. The composite material is placed within the periphery of a mold and expandable epoxy matrix material is placed between the layers of the composite material either before or after closing the mold and, then, subjecting the mold and its contents to heat which activates the epoxy resins in both the composite material and the matrix material causing the matrix material to expand thereby compressing the composite material in order to produce a competent composite part.

    • A shipping support system for moveable articles within a refrigerator having an interior compartment containing a plurality of movable articles such as shelves and the like, wherein the packing support system includes a conformable bag containing expandable foam material. A shipping support is formed by dispensing the expandable foam into an open receiving end of the conformable bag and then the receiving end is sealed closed. Upon forming the shipping support, the conformable bag is secured to a door hingedly mounted to the refrigerator before the expandable foam has completely expanded and formed. Subsequently, the door is closed, capturing the conformable bag between the door and the moveable articles within the refrigerator. As the expandable foam expands, the conformable bag conforms to the configuration of the moveable articles such that the moveable articles are securely supported within the refrigerator cabinet.

    • A soft foam article (20) and a method for making the article including a permeable cover (24) of a cloth type sheet construction having an interior (26) and an exterior (28) as well as including an open cell soft polyurethane foam (30) molded in situ within the cover in direct engagement with the cover interior without permeating the cover. The soft foam article (20) includes a soft toy (22) and seating components embodied by a seat cushion (52), a seat back (54), a headrest (56), and an armrest (58). The in situ molding of the soft polyurethane foam is achieved by the use of an aqueous gel coating (34) on the cover interior (26) so as to prevent a liquid foam mixture from permeating the cover while still permitting escape of any air within the cover and of gas generated during the foaming. Best results are achieved when the aqueous gel includes water and an acrylic acid polymer that is acid neutralized to increase its viscosity to the range of about 60,000 to 100,000 centipoise and most preferably to about 80,000 centipoise.

    • Ski upper- and lower-surface constituting materials are set in position in a mold provided with a space appropriate for the dimensional distribution of the padding for the ski. The ski upper-surface constituting material is arranged so that a resin sheet of ABS resin, etc. constitutes the outer surface of ski. The inner upper surface of the upper mold piece is formed in a curved surface having, for example, grooves. A foamy resin is injected to fill the space between the ski upper and lower constituting materials. The foaming pressure raised by the foamy resin will press the resin sheet against the inner upper surface of the upper mold piece with resulting deformation of the resin sheet. Thus one may obtain a ski which is provided on its upper surface with projections.
