    • A locking lance (20) on the inner surface of a cavity (19) of a housing (11) includes a lance main body (21) and an inclined portion (22).     • In a connector for connecting first and second objects to each other, a contact includes a first connecting portion to be connected to the first object, a second connecting portion to be connected to the second object, and a holding portion held by a housing. The first connecting portion includes a pair of coupling portions extending from a base portion and faced to each other and a pair of contacting portions extending from the coupling portions, respectively, and faced to each other. Each of the contacting portions includes a fitting portion coupled to the coupling portion and fitted to the first connection object and a free end extending on a side opposite to the fitting portion. The contact is designed so that, upon connection with the first connection object, a distance between the contacting portions is narrower at the fitting portions than that at the free ends.

    • A clip unit (10) that holds an electrical contact (11) in a passageway (12) of a connector frame (13), is of small cost and small length and can be installed using a small force, and provides the functions of centering a location along the contact within the passageway and preventing rearward movement of the contact along the passageway. The unit includes front and rear ring-shaped clip elements (25, 35) that each has a slot (26, 36) that is expanded to mount the unit in a neck (18) of the contact. A contact with the unit installed is pushed forwardly along the passageway until the front clip element encounters a constriction (45) in the passageway which compresses the diameter of the front clip element until it moves forward of the constriction and then expands. Thereafter, a rear end (27) of the front element abuts the constriction while a front end of the front element abuts a collar (17) of the contact to prevent rearward movement of the contact. After installation, the rear element lies within the frame constriction and centers the neck within the constriction.

    • A connector comprises contact pins, an insulator and a supplementary insulator. Each of the contact pins comprises a supported portion and a contact end. The insulator comprises accommodation portions which accommodate the respective contact pins. Each of the accommodation portions is provided with a supporting portion which includes a supporting surface and supports the supported portion of the corresponding contact pin. The supplementary insulator is fixedly held by the insulator. At least one part of the supported portion of the contact pin is placed between the supporting surface and the supplementary insulator in a Z-direction. Therefore, the supported portion always straightly extends in a Y-direction so that the contact end can be surely positioned at a predetermined position.

    • A hybrid electrical connector includes both signal and power contacts in the same connector housing. The housing includes a plurality of axially extending passageways for receipt of the signal contacts and a plurality of axially extending cavities for receipt of the power contacts.
