摘要： A ceiling system in one embodiment conceals the ceiling support structure to provide a monolithic ceiling appearance. The system includes the support structure and ceiling panels each having a top surface, bottom surface, and peripheral edges. In one embodiment, the peripheral edges of the panels may have a hybrid edge detail including a tongue-and-groove portion and a shiplap portion. The hybrid edges of adjoining panels are configured to both interlock via the tongue-and-groove edge features and hide the ceiling support structure via the shiplap edge features. This eliminates the need to secure all peripheral edges to the support structure for proper support. In one implementation, some but less than all peripheral edges may include mounting flanges for direct surface mounting of the panels to and hiding the support structure.

摘要： A suspended ceiling system uses a grid system having series of intermediate nodes interior to a peripheral edge of the ceiling system and a series of edge nodes at an edge of the grid system. Each intermediate node is defined by a connection plate having a series of guide tracks for receiving and cooperating with an upper edge of the ceiling grid members to align the grid members in a predetermined geometric configuration. Mechanical fasteners secure the connection plate and the ceiling grid members in any of the guide tracks. Each connection plate between adjacent guide tracks includes generally opposed connection slots for receiving support springs suspending ceiling panels beneath the grid system. The connection plate simplifies installation and avoids incorrect placement of the grid members. Preferably the grid system includes at least five grid members equally spaced about a center point of the connection plate. In a further preferred structure at least six grid members are secured to a connection plate and the ceiling panels are of a triangular shape.

The panel includes a relatively thick rectangular base section and a relatively thin rectangular lip section which extends outwardly from the periphery of the base section. The retainer clips are connected with the base section and cooperate with the lip section of the panel. Each of the retainer clips includes a plurality of mounting teeth which penetrate the material of the panel and a plurality of latch teeth. To mount the panel in the support structure, the latch teeth on the retainer clips engage the support structure to hold the panel against movement relative to the support structure.

Each of the metal panels is provided with a suspension arrangement adjacent a pair of opposite edges to enable hanging the panel from flanges of adjacent main runners to conceal the runners. The suspension arrangement is such that space is provided to enable disassembling a panel from the system without disturbing adjacent panels. The panel may be provided with a stop arrangement which would prevent unintentional disengagement of the suspension arrangement from a flange of the main runner.

These lugs are inserted into the rims of the panels and the arms of the adjacent panels overlie these rims. A space is provided above the thus mounted arms so that the arms can be lifted thereby to allow the underlying rim to be disengaged for the removal of a panel.

摘要： The panel includes a fibrous glass board, a channel-shaped metal frame, and decorative fabric or plastic film adhered to the lower surface of the board and frame. The frame has an upper flange cooperable with an inverted T-bar of a suspended grid and a lower flange which extends halfway across the head of the inverted T-bar in the mounted position of the panel. Each pair of adjacent mounted panels covers the T-bar therebetween. The board is supported mainly by tabs on the frame. Because the bottom of the board is flush with the bottom of the frame, the frame is unnoticeable behind the decorative covering. The adherence of the decorative covering to the board and frame reduces potential sagging of the board and permits the panels to be made larger.
