摘要： In the decomposition of a polymer containing a urethane linkage and/or urea linkage in the presence of a decomposing agent, the amount of evolved carbon dioxide is measured and the decomposition reaction is conducted until a total amount of evolved carbon dioxide reaches a specified value to obtain a liquid decomposition product. According to the present invention, a decomposition product having constant quality can be obtained in a simple manner.

摘要： Cured, thermoset plastic articles derived from scrap polyurethanes are disclosed. The polyurethane is converted to a liquified mixture containing digested polyurethane and cyclic, unsaturated anhydride. A Lewis acid then catalyzes insertion of the cyclic, unsaturated anhydride into the polyether backbone of the polyurethane to give a liquid, unsaturated resin. The unsaturated resin can cured with a vinyl monomer in the presence of a free-radical initiator to give a cured, thermoset plastic.

摘要： A process for reclaiming elastomeric material from elemental sulphur-cured elastomeric material having a vulcanized network without using hexamethylene tetramine, by treating the sulphur-cured elastomeric material having a vulcanized network with one or more rubber delinking accelerators selected from the group of zinc salts of thiocarbamates and zinc salts of dialkyl dithiophosphates, 2-mercaptobenzothiazole or derivatives thereof, thiurams, guanidines, 4,4'-dithiomorpholine and sulphenamides, and a zinc oxide activator in an amount sufficient to act as an activator for the accelerator(s) to delink the elastomeric material at a temperature below 70.degree. C., whereby the vulcanized network is opened up or delinked to provide a curable reclaimed elastomeric material capable of being vulcanized without adding rubber vulcanizing chemicals. The invention also includes compositions capable of delinking the vulcanized network of sulphur-cured elastomeric materials including the accelerators and activator described above. The obtained recycled, or reclaimed, elastomeric material has desired physical and dynamic characteristics that render it suitable for use in molded goods or for admixture with fresh compounds in tires and related products.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for the recovery of secondary polyols from paint sludge coagulate, formed from paint overspray which has first been dewatered by mass action, by chemical treatment in a manner such that the recovered product can be reused in the manufacture of paints. According to the recovery method, the organic components contained in the paint coagulate are glycolytically split at an elevated temperature into reusable polyols. Preferably, a mixture of different glycols is used, preferably in an amount of about 20 to 50% by weight based on the dewatered paint coagulate. The addition of glycol dilutes the paint coagulate and makes it flowable. The water contained in the paint coagulate is evaporated and removed during the glycolytic splitting because of the increase in temperature. The impurities contained in the paint coagulate, such as pigments, coagulants or flocculants, can be comminuted and finely dispersed by intensive shearing of the paint coagulate. At the end of the process, these impurities can also be filtered out from the polyols formed.

摘要： The invention comprises a process for recovering secondary polyols from polyadducts which contain nonglycolysable constituents. In the process, a precomminuted polyadduct starting material is pretreated with glycols in a shear reactor at elevated temperature and pressure, for a relatively short time period, the nonglycolysable constituent being further comminuted and dispersed and the polyadducts being preglycolyzed. The preproduct thus obtained is broken down in subsequent stir reactors at a somewhat elevated temperature and for longer times, first without the further addition of glycol, and then with further addition of glycol. From the secondary polyol finally obtained, a plastic can be produced which can be further processed to make plastic components.
