    • A system and method for the identification and analysis of cadence pattern is disclosed. The method uses previous and current fields to generate the difference between the field values. The difference of these values along with the field relations is passed to the state machine to generate the state of the top and bottom fields. Based on the top and bottom state the cadence signature is generated and by using the Fourier analysis the principle frequency of repeated cadence pattern signature sequence is identified. Each of the cadence signatures present in the cadence pattern signature sequence is decoded to calculate the pull-down value of the cadence pattern. The pull down value then gives the actual cadence pattern.

    • A flexible video cadence detecting apparatus includes a motion detecting unit, a cycle detecting unit, a film detecting unit, and a de-interlacing unit. The motion detecting unit receives a plurality of continuous field images and determines whether or not there is motion in each field image. The motion detecting unit assigns a first or a second value according to whether or not there is motion in the field image, so as to obtain a value stream. The cycle detecting unit receives the value stream and detects whether or not the first or the second value has a cycle, so as to output a cycle determinant. The film detecting unit receives the value stream and the cycle determinant and determines whether or not the field images are a film, to output a cadence pattern. The de-interlacing unit restores the field images into an original film according to the cadence pattern.

    • A water or liquid substance filtration device is disclosed which removes microorganisms and organic contamination and sterilizes the containers and water lines after the unit. The unit is portable, or can be mounted stationary. The unit has a five-stage filtration and sterilization system controlled by an independent onboard computer system that can link to a central computer system to keep track of all independent units. The unit will physically filter out of the water contaminants that can be reused, destroyed, or flushed down a safe drain. It can also be modified to filter for a certain size of particulate, making recovery of certain substances possible. The unit has a self-diagnostic system that can determine if the unit is operating properly and can shut down a part thereof if one of the capillary units fails. The unit uses ozone to disinfect containers and water lines.

The method continues by determining, for each of the plurality of current pixels in the current video field, a first and a second set of absolute differences between a current pixel in a current position in a current scan line and at least one first pixel in the current position in at least one vertically adjacent scan line relative to the current scan line, where the first and the second set of absolute differences is based on a first field parity pattern and a second field parity pattern, respectively. A first accumulated value based on a sum total of each of the first set of absolute differences and a second accumulated value based on a sum total of each of the second set of absolute differences are determined, and a correct field parity pattern of the current video field is determined based on the first accumulated value and the second accumulated value.
