摘要： This relates variously to techniques for comminuting polymeric foams, to techniques for preparing polymeric foams containing that comminuted foam, and to the resulting comminuted foam powder and polymeric foams. The procedures may be used on foams containing production contaminants such as polyolefins, paper, and foam skins and on other foams containing consumer contaminants such as wood, metal, leather, etc. The comminuted foam powder, with or without contaminants, preferably is screened or sifted to obtain a foam powder having a particle size of about 2 mm or less.

摘要： A photographic polyester film and a manufacturing method therefor. The photographic polyester film includes a polyester base film, a primer layer formed of polyurethane resin on at least one surface of the polyester base film, and a subbing layer formed of a hydrophillic polymer on at least one surface of the primer layer. Also, a photosensitive layer may be stacked on the subbing layer. The photographic polymer film having the primer layer, the subbing layer and the photosensitive layer exhibits excellent interlayer adhesiveness between the hydrophobic polyester base film and the hydrophilic sensitive layer. Also, in the manufacture of the photographic polyester film, in particular, in the case of forming a subbing layer after a long time has passed from the formation of a primer layer, if a corona discharge treatment is performed on at least one surface of the polyester film with the primer layer prior to the formation of a subbing layer and then a high-temperature curing is performed after the formation of the subbing layer, the resulting photographic polyester film has a strong adhesiveness of the subbing layer to the primer layer.

摘要： A process for improving the impact resistance of a coated plastic substrate, particularly those polymers having a high refractive index, comprising applying an aqueous polyurethane dispersion as a primer layer to at least one surface of the plastic substrate, at least partially curing the aqueous polyurethane dispersion by air drying at ambient temperature, applying a coating composition over the polyurethane primer layer, and curing the coating composition to form an abrasion resistant hard coat. Preferably, the aqueous polyurethane dispersion is air dried at ambient temperature for less than one hour before application of the abrasion resistant coating composition. The process provides an impact enhancing, abrasion resistant coating system having strong interfacial adhesion that is preferably transparent for application onto preferably transparent plastic articles, such as ophthalmic lenses and safety eye wear.

摘要： Disclosed are (1) an aqueous thermoplastic coating composition for coating plastics substrates, the composition consisting essentially of:(A) an aqueous acrylic resin and(B) a urethane resin emulsion,the component (B) being a self-emulsifiable urethane emulsion prepared by subjecting a urethane prepolymer to reaction for chain extension by water and emulsification after or during neutralization of the urethane prepolymer with a tertiary amine, the urethane prepolymer consisting essentially of (i) an aliphatic and/or an alicyclic diisocyanate, (ii) a polyether diol and/or polyester diol both having a number-average molecular weight of about 500 to about 5000, (iii) a low-molecular weight polyhydroxyl compound and (iv) a dimethylolalkanoic acid in NCO/OH equivalent ratio of 1.1-1.9 : 1, the amount of the component (A) being about 1 to about 12% by weight and the amount of the component (B) being about 99 to about 88% by weight, based on the combined weight (calculated as solids) of the two components; and (2) a two-coat coating method for coating a plastics substrate, the method comprising the steps of coating a plastics substrate with a base-coat composition containing a coloring pigment and/or metallic pigment, applying a clear coat composition to the cured or uncured coating for forming a transparent coating and curing the clear coating or the two coatings at the same time at a temperature lower than about 120.degree. C., the method being characterized by the use of the aqueous thermoplastic coating composition as defined above in (1) as the base-coat composition.
