    • A third braking system for an electric motorcycle includes a circuiting apparatus and a mechanism. By depressing an electric-braking button on a switch part of a handle set, a braking signal will be generated and be sent to a signal transformer via an input device of the circuiting apparatus. The signal transformer transforms the braking signal into a digital signal, and then the digital signal is sent to a CPU. After processing the digital signal and detecting the voltage level at a variable resistor, the CPU stops the transmission of driving signals to a driving circuitry for disabling the operation of a speed-control handler of the mechanism, and the CPU also generates a reverse electric potential corresponding to the detected voltage level. The reverse electric potential is then applied to a DC motor via a braking circuitry, for reducing rotation speed of the DC motor to stop the motorcycle. To relieve the braking, the speed-control handler is rotated back to an original state. By re-rotating the speed-control handler to adjust the voltage level of the variable resistor, the DC motor will re-start to drive the motorcycle forward.

    • A throttle controller includes an electrical position sensor having a movable element and being mounted on a steering mechanism, such as a handlebar, and a mechanical interface from the position sensor to a throttle handle. The movement of the throttle handle actuates the mechanical interface which, in turn, alters the position of the movable element in the position sensor. The changeable position of the movable element thus provides an electrical indication of the position of the throttle handle suitable for controlling the internal combustion engine or electric motor. The position sensor may be a rotary position sensor having a rotor as the movable element, wherein rotating the throttle handle rotates the rotor. The throttle controller is particularly useful on a personal water craft, all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, etc. Potentiometers or Hall effect devices are both suitable for use as the position sensor.

    • A handlegrip cruise assist device is formed of a single piece of stiff resilient material, having a circular segment which is shaped circularly so as to grip the outer end of the throttle handlegrip, and a lever segment which extends beneath the heel of the palm and adjoining wrist of the operator with his hand in the normal operating position on the throttle handlegrip. The application of downward pressure on the lever segment from the palm and the adjoining wrist of the throttle hand neutralizes the return force of the carburetor return-to-idle springs, permitting the operator to maintain a constant throttle opening without having to grasp the throttle handlegrip. The circular segment is of a diameter slightly less than the diameter of a complete circle. When mounted, the application of downward pressure on the lever segment of the device contracts the diameter of the circular segment to increase its grip upon the throttle handlegrip and assure that the relative rotational positions of the cruise control device and the throttle handlegrip remain the same. However, when upward pressure is applied to the lever segment, the diameter of the circular segment expands so as to loosen the grasp of the device on the throttle handlegrip, thereby permitting the relative position of the cruise control device and the throttle handlegrip to be rotated for release or adjustment of cruising position.
