摘要： A developer carrier for an SLIC developing system includes a developing sleeve and a magnetic roll having a plurality of magnetic poles. A narrow development nip is formed by narrowing the width of a development pole forming a magnet brush and by narrowing a developer rising region in a developing region where a flux density attenuation ratio of the development pole is 40% or more. A half-value width of the flux density of the development pole is 22° or less and the flux density variation rate is 4.0 mT/Deg or more in a circumferential direction in a part where the flux density in at least half of that of a downstream side of a developer carrying direction from a peak magnetic force position of the development pole is 90% or less.

摘要： A toner bottle (38) has projections (38c, 38c') on its bottom surface. The projections (38c, 38c') extend in the axial direction but are spaced away from the central-axis line of the toner bottle (38). The projections (38c, 38c') are engaged with convex portions (62b, 62b') formed in a joint (62) of a drive portion (60). When the drive portion (60) starts rotating, the torque is transferred to the toner bottle (38) via the projections (38c, 38c') and the convex portions (62b, 62b'). Since the torque is transferred from the bottom side of the toner bottle (38), the toner bottle (38) can be attached to or detached from a body of an image forming apparatus in a direction of the central-axis line. Toner discharged from the toner bottle (38) is introduced into a process cartridge through an opening portion (48) of a toner hopper portion (40) and a toner introducing cover (52). A shutter member (88) is disposed in the toner introducing cover (52). The shutter member (88) consists of a flexible elastic member (90) and a holding member (92) for holding the elastic member (90). The shutter member (88) intersects with the opening plane of a toner supplying port. Guiding portions for bending and guiding the elastic member (90) along the toner supplying port are also disposed in the toner introducing cover (52).

摘要： An image forming apparatus having independently detachable toner supply units and image processing units. The toner supply unit includes a toner supply port, a first shutter controlling a toner flow path of the toner supply port, and a first guide rib formed on the toner supply unit. The image processing unit includes a toner acceptance port, a second shutter controlling the toner flow path of the toner acceptance port, and a second guide rib formed on the image processing unit. The first and second guide ribs engage the second and first shutters when the toner supply unit and the image processing unit are both attached to the main body of the image forming apparatus. If either the toner supply unit or the image processing unit is removed from the main body, the guide ribs disengage the corresponding shutters, causing the shutters to close the toner flow paths. Reassembling the toner supply unit with the image processing unit engages the shutters to reopen the toner flow paths.

摘要： A toner container for installation in a toner supply device is provided. The toner container includes a toner accommodation member and a cap member freely attachable to and detachable from the toner accommodation member. The toner accommodation member includes a bag member having an opening, and a connection member attached to the opening of the bag member and having a toner supply opening. The cap member is configured to receive toner supplied from the toner supply opening of the connection member of the toner accommodation member and to discharge the received toner. Either of the connection member of the toner accommodation member and the cap member includes a groove part and the other includes a protrusion part to engage with the groove part, and the cap member is attached to the toner accommodation member by engaging the groove part and the protrusion part with each other. The protrusion part elastically deforms to engage with the groove part.
