    • A cooling structure of a stator, including a case that accommodates a rotating electrical machine, and cooling a coil end portion protruding from a stator core included in the stator of the rotating electrical machine. The structure supplies a cooling medium from the stator axial direction toward a gap that is formed between an inner surface of the case and an outer edge of the stator core. The cooling medium introducing gap is formed above a portion of the coil end portion to which the cooling medium is to be supplied. A storage space forming member is provided along an outer peripheral surface of the coil end portion. The storage space forming member has a contact portion having a first contact portion that contacts the inner surface of the case to close the cooling medium storage space on the one side in the stator axial direction.

    • An image forming apparatus may include a removable/attachable belt unit. In operation, the belt unit may be secured to a main body of the image forming apparatus using a lock mechanism to prevent extraneous or unexpected shifts and/or other movements. The lock mechanism may be located closer to a rotation pivot than to a midpoint between the rotation pivot and a rotation axis of a driven roller. This positioning of the lock mechanism may allow easier attachment and removal of the belt unit. Additionally, the lock mechanism may include an urging member configured to sandwich a protruding member of the belt unit against a contact surface in a front-rear direction. This reduces the potential for elastic or creep deformation of the belt unit.

    • A belt is looped around a plurality of rollers including a drive roller and a follow roller. The belt has an inner peripheral surface facing inside of a loop of the belt and an outer peripheral surface opposite the inner peripheral surface. The belt has a first widthwise edge and a second widthwise edge. A widthwise-movement restricting member is disposed on the inner peripheral surface on a first widthwise edge side. The widthwise-movement restricting member restricts widthwise movement of the belt in a direction toward a second widthwise edge side. An expansion-contraction restricting member is disposed on the second widthwise edge side on at least one of the inner peripheral surface and the outer peripheral surface. The expansion-contraction restricting member is less expandable in a peripheral direction of the belt than the widthwise-movement restricting member is. An urging member applies tension to the belt in the peripheral direction.

A wide gate separating region is secured between a p+ gate region and an n+ gate region. This gate separating region is a non-doped polysilicone region in which impurities such as B, P, and As are not implanted. Therefore, the probability that impurities existing in one gate region may reach the other gate through a gate electrode metal film is extremely low. Consequently, the characteristics of the semiconductor device are maintained in excellent condition.

    • An image forming apparatus forms a multicolor toner image by superposing a plurality of monochromatic toner images on a transfer material. The apparatus has: a plurality of toner image carriers on which monochromatic toner images of different colors are respectively formed; toner-image-carrier driver for driving all the toner carriers to rotate in a predetermined period; and a position-shift correction quantity detector for determining the position shift quantity of each monochromatic toner image in the multicolor toner image and outputting a position-shift correction quantity corresponding to the detected result. The toner-image-carrier driver controls the period of rotational driving of each toner image carrier in conformity with the position-shift correction quantity.
