摘要： Disclosed is method for measuring a home cell in a mobile telecommunications system comprising: a network including a plurality of base stations for defining communications cells; and first and second user equipment for communicating with the network, said plurality of base stations including at least one home base station defining a home cell associated with said first user equipment and not with said second user equipment, said home cell overlapping in coverage with a communications cell usable by both said first and second user equipment, the method including the steps of: acquiring, at the network, position data indicative of the position of the first user equipment; determining whether the first user equipment is close to the home cell by using the acquired position data; sending a cell measurement control message from the network to the first user equipment via a base station specifying measurements of said home cell; performing, at the first user equipment a fine position measurement; determining at the first user equipment whether the first user equipment is close to the home cell, based on said fine position measurement; and taking measurements of said home cell at the first user equipment when the first user equipment is close to the home cell.

摘要： Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving additional information through a random access procedure by mapping at least one additional information element to random access codes to be used in a random access procedure between a UE and an ENB in a mobile communication system. According to the method, a random access code selected based on additional information to be transmitted and a triggering cause of the random access procedure is transmitted from the UE to the ENB. Each random access code is differently mapped to at least one additional information element according to a class of a cause for which a corresponding random access procedure is triggered, and the additional information elements are mapped to different ranges of random access codes according to the classes of the cause.

The UE capability transmitting method includes receiving a message requesting UE capability information from an evolved Node B (eNB), generating first capability information and second capability information according to the UE capability information requesting message, and transmitting UE capability information including the first and second capability information to the eNB. The first capability information comprises FDD capability information applicable to an FDD mode or TDD capability information applicable to a TDD mode. The second capability information comprises capability information applicable to both the FDD mode and the TDD mode. The system and method can allow a dual mode UE to efficiently report its capability information.
