    • The process that is the subject of this invention is a method of making a rotary sputtering target having the steps of providing a cylinder of sputtering target material having an adhesion-wetting layer on its inside surface; providing a stainless steel sputtering target backing tube having an outside diameter smaller than the sputtering target material inside diameter, the backing tube having an adhesion-wetting layer on its outside surface; welding an upper and lower stainless steel retaining ring to the backing tube adjacent to the sputtering target material so that the target material is in compression and the backing tube in tension; and introducing molten bonding material into the annulus between the backing tube and the sputtering target material.The apparatus that is the subject of the present invention is a rotary sputtering target apparatus having a cylinder of sputtering target material; a backing tube having a smaller outside diameter than the inside diameter of the sputtering target material; and bonding material disposed between the target material and backing tube, the bonding material bonding them together.

    • A ballistic arm guard is provided and includes a pliable outer shell or housing that encompasses inner ballistic cores which are housed or contained within an inner shell or housing. Secured to exterior portions of the ballistic arm guard are a series of attaching straps and buckles that facilitates the securing of the ballistic arm guard to the wearer's upper limb. Secured to and incorporated into an upper portion of the ballistic arm guard is a tourniquet. In one design, the interior ballistic cores comprise high performance fibers such as an aramid fiber, high molecular weight polyethylene, a combination of these, or other high performance fibers types.

    • An anti-ballistic guard is provided and includes a rigid frame that includes an outer portion of rigid ballistic material and an inner portion that includes a pliable outer shell or housing that encompasses an inner thermally resistant core which is housed or contained within an inner shell or housing and a inner ballistic core which is housed or contained within an inner shell or housing. Secured to exterior portions of the inner portion housing are pluralities of attachment points that facilitate the securement of the inner portion to the rigid frame. In one design, the inner portion outer cover comprises flame retardant, high performance fibers such as arimid, O-PAN, or a combination of these, and other high performance fibers.
