    • Static eliminator device includes a nonmetallic pultruded composite member having a plurality of conductive carbon fibers provided within a polymer matrix of thermosetting resin, wherein the plurality of carbon fibers are oriented within the polymer matrix in a longitudinal direction of the pultruded composite member and extend continuously therethrough. The pultruded composite member has at least one laser fibrillated end including a brush-like structure of densely distributed filament contacts formed from an exposed length of the carbon fibers for contact with the surface. The brush-like structure has either a straight edge configuration or a shaped configuration. The static eliminator device may include a base member for holding the pultruded composite member, wherein the base member electrically communicates with the plurality of conductive fibers to permit the electrical charge to pass therefrom. The static eliminator device utilizes a plurality of the pultruded composite members attached to the base member, each having a rod shape, or a single pultruded composite member having a planar shape. Alternatively, the static eliminator device may essentially be of single piece construction, wherein the pultruded composite member is planar in shape.

    • Offset of toner powder upon a heated surface is prevented by applying an emulsion of a high viscosity release agent and a low viscosity dispersion liquid upon the heated surface by an applicator means in contact with the heated surface. The preferred emulsion is a mixture of high viscosity silicone oil and water. There is also described a method of manufacturing a fibrous applicator and the article formed thereby which includes the impregnation of the fibrous applicator with an emulsion of high viscosity liquid and a low viscosity dispersion liquid and the removal of low viscosity dispersion liquid after impregnation with the emulsion is complete. A preferred applicator is a fibrous wick having water removed therefrom after the fibrous wick is impregnated with an emulsion of a polydimethylsiloxane liquid and water.

    • Provided herein is an apparatus having management of electrical power capacity regions and management of thermal capacity regions including a substrate member region having a length, a width, a thickness, and a surface area. The substrate member region may include a host binder material consisting of a polymer, a thermal plastic polymer, a thermo setting polymer, an intrinsically conductive polymer, an elastomer, a ceramic, a glass, a cement, a metal, a synthetic metal, combinations and mixtures of the above and the like, at least one conductive region for management of electrical power capacity and at least one conductive region for management of thermal capacity and at least one non-conductive regions. At least one of the regions for management of electrical power capacity and, optionally, at least one of the regions for management of thermal capacity as well as non-conductive regions may include an exposed surface for contact with another surface of a functional device.
