    • In a motorcycle in which a rear fork is swingably provided on a vehicle body frame with a power unit, a rear wheel is provided at a rear end of the rear fork, a drive shaft is provided between a gear case on a lateral side of the rear wheel and an output shaft of the power unit, and output power of the power unit is transmitted to the rear wheel through the drive shaft and the gear case. The rear fork extends along a lateral side of the rear wheel and has an arm through which the drive shaft passes. The arm has a tubular base part with a closed cross section, and a rear part with an open cross section through which the drive shaft passes. The base part has a thick-walled area at the rear end of the base part.

    • Provided is a method of measuring a biodegradation rate of a non-natural organic compound in the presence of a biodegradation medium, characterized by including: measuring a concentration of a radioactive carbon isotope 14C in a biodegradation medium; and measuring a biodegradation rate of a non-natural organic compound from a difference between the concentration of 14C in the biodegradation medium and a concentration of 14C in modern carbon. Further, a metal such as iron in the medium can be used as an internal standard. According to the method, a biodegradation rate of a non-natural organic compound can be measured safely, simply, rapidly, and accurately without providing any special measures against radiation.

    • A recording head moving mechanism has a pair of guide rails fixed to a support member, and a ball screw extending parallel to the guide rails. The ball screw is rotatable by a motor to move a recording head parallel to an axis of a plate cylinder. At an image-recording time, the recording head records an image while being moved at a constant speed by the moving mechanism through a moving region between a recording start position and a recording finish position. After recording the image, the recording head is moved to a retreat position.
