    • Systems and methods for generating a storage policy for a storage system are provided. The method comprises receiving a target function applicable to a storage system having one or more data storage mediums, wherein the target function represents values for storage parameters associated with productivity or loss tolerance in the storage system; implementing one or more simulation rules according to the received target function; generating one or more storage operation requests to access data on said one or more data storage mediums based on said one or more simulation rules; submitting said one or more storage operation requests to the storage system for processing; analyzing simulation results obtained for the storage system, in response to the storage system processing said one or more storage operation requests; and generating one or more storage policies, by a machine learning entity, in response to analyzing the simulation results.

    • A computer implemented method for generating a storage policy for a storage system based on simulation results associated with a state of the storage system is provided. The method comprises receiving a target function applicable to a storage system, wherein the target function represents a measure of values associated with storage parameters related to productivity and loss tolerance of the storage system; wherein the simulation results for a state of the storage system are calculated based on a least one of (a) the storage system simulated response to a set of simulated file-related storage operation requests generated based on one or more simulation rules, (b) the state of the storage system before responding to the set of simulated file-related storage operation requests, (c) the storage system target function; and (d) rules for simulating file-related storage operation requests.

    • Techniques for maintaining connectivity between a remote application stored on a remote device and an application being executed in a system environment, wherein the system environment is migrated from a first device to a second device, are provided. A first connection between the remote application stored on the remote device and the application being executed in the system environment stored on the first device is established via a first communication over a first negotiation channel. The first negotiation channel connects a first socket layer interface linked to the application being executed in the system environment to a second socket layer interface linked to the remote application. The first connection between the remote application and the application being executed in the system environment is disconnected for migration of the system environment from the first device to the second device. Disconnecting the first connection is coordinated via the first negotiation channel. A second connection between the remote application stored on the remote device and an application being executed in the migrated system environment stored on the second device is established via a second communication over a second negotiation channel. The second negotiation channel connects a third socket layer interface linked to the application being executed in the migrated system environment to the second socket layer interface linked to the remote application.

    • A system and method for maintaining ordering in completion and retransmit operations in an RDMA environment. A system is provided for handling a completion process in an remote data memory access (RDMA) environment having a RequestOut channel and a ResponseOut channel, comprising: a descriptor list for each channel, wherein each descriptor list includes a message descriptor for each message in the channel; an update mechanism for updating a message length field in the message descriptor with a sequence number of a last byte in the message whenever a channel swap occurs between the RequestOut channel and the ResponseOut channel; an acknowledgement (Ack) completion system that examines values in a completion context and compares a sequence number of a next to complete message with a last acknowledged sequence number to determine if the message should be completed; and a read request completion system that performs completion of a read request.
