    • An exemplary optical plate (23) includes a transparent plate portion 231, a plurality of brightness enhancement structures (232) and a light diffusion layer (233). The transparent plate portion has a light input interface (2311), and a light output surface (2312) opposite to the light input interface. The brightness enhancement structures are formed at the light output surface. The light diffusion layer are formed on the light input interface, which includes a transparent resin matrix material and a plurality of first light diffusion particles and a plurality of second light diffusion particles dispersed in the transparent resin matrix material uniformly. A refractive index of the second light diffusion particles is greater than that of the first light diffusion particles. An exemplary method for manufacturing the optical plate is also provided. The optical plate and an associated backlight module (20) can increase the light energy utilization ratio.

    • A backlight system includes a light diffusion plate and at least one light source module. The light source module is disposed under the light diffusion plate. The light source module includes a base, a sidewall extending from a longitudinal edge of the base, a protrusion formed on an edge of the base opposite the first sidewall, the protrusion having a reflective surface facing the sidewall, and at least a light source fixed on an inner surface of the sidewall facing the reflective surface of the protrusion. Light rays from the light source being reflected at the reflective surface toward the light diffusion plate. The present backlight system has a good optical performance, lightweight and thin body.

    • A frame includes a main frame and a receiving frame. The main frame includes a base and several circumferential sidewalls extending from the base. At least two opposite stepped elements are defined at the top of two opposite sidewalls. Each stepped element includes a tread portion extending from the sidewall toward an inner of the main frame, a riser portion extending from the end of the tread portion toward the opening. The receiving frame includes a frame body, a rim portion extending from a bottom of the frame body toward an inner of the frame body, and at least two grooves defined in the rim portion corresponding to the two stepped elements. Each groove of the receiving frame may be inserted into the corresponding stepped element. A backlight system using the frame is also provided, which has a narrow-framed, space-saving design, and also can be assembled easily.

    • An LED ceiling lamp includes a primary illumination unit and at least one subsidiary illumination unit. The primary illumination includes a base and a connecting member to fix the base to a ceiling. Each of the at least one subsidiary illumination unit is fixed to the base and faces the ceiling. Each of the at least one subsidiary illumination unit comprises a circuit board with an LED unit, a lens and a reflector. The lens covers the circuit board. The circuit board and the lens are received in the reflector. The lens is configured for dividing the light beams from the LED units into several light groups. An aphotic area is formed between each two adjacent light groups. The reflector is configured for reflecting the several light groups on the ceiling.

    • A light distribution structure for a light emitting diode includes a lens, a light distribution member, and a reflection member. The lens is fixed to the light distribution member.
