    • An asymmetrical multiprocessor system has a main storage or macroprocessor connected under control of a microprocessor for initiation and termination of operation of the macroprocessor. The macroprocessor after being started by the microprocessor runs until a check condition in the macroprocessor occurs, a non-executable operation code (OP code) in the macroprocessor is encountered, or the microprocessor wants control. When the macroprocessor stops the microprocessor is interrupted. The interrupt routine handles the condition causing the interrupt and restarts the macroprocessor. Non-executable OP codes include supervisor call and invalid OP codes. I/O operations are handled by the supervisor call instruction.

    • A video monitoring system captures image frames of a patient in various positions. The captured image frames are analyzed by the system for changes in a patient's position or movement, frames in which the system detects one or both of patient movement and repositioning are retained. The system analyzes an area of interest within each image frame that corresponds to an area in the camera's view field with the patient. Sequential image frames are compared for motion, only frames without motion, where the patient is still, are analyzed. Analysis techniques include selecting a plurality of vertical positions in the area of interest, each vertical position corresponding to a part of the patient body indicative of the patient's position, horizontally scanning values along the horizontal pixel row at each vertical position in the area of interest, finding an average value for each vertical position and identifying a patient interval of the horizontal pixel row having pixel values different from the average and a representative horizontal position of the patient interval for each vertical interval. Then, comparing those median horizontal positions from a current image frame to the representative horizontal positions from a previous image frame to determine a change in the patient's position.

    • A bathing apparatus includes an in-line mixing unit and a hand operated injecting unit. The mixing unit is coupled between a water supply pipe and a water dispensing device, such as a showerhead and is in fluid communication with the hand operated injection unit. The injection unit, upon user demand, draws a controllable predetermined quantity of bathing fluid from a standard off the shelf purchased bottle of bathing fluid, such as a bottle of bath oil, and then ejects, upon user demand and in a hands free operation, the drawn bathing fluid, at a user selected flow rate. The ejected bathing fluid passes to the mixing unit which causes the ejected bathing fluid to be mixed within a stream of water being delivered to the water dispensing device.

    • An attachment system principally use on garment (10, 30) provides a number of aligned loops (15) on the garment and a number of aligned loops (24) on a load such as an equipment pack (17). The load also includes an elongate securing member that extends from the load with a flexible proximal portion (26) and a stiffened distal portion (27). The stiffened distal portion (27) can be very readily threaded through successive ensemble loops (15) and load loops (24) to pull the flexible proximal portion (26) through the loops (15, 24) to attach the load (17) to the garment (10, 30). The stiffened distal portion (27) is then fed back through the loops (15, 24) to provide a geometric lock that prevents the load (17, 18) detaching from the garment (10, 30). Various loads can be attached in this way.
