    • A rotor core has permanent magnets. Magnetic flux of the permanent magnet of an even-numbered rotor magnetic pole part is guided in an axial direction by an axial magnetic path member. Magnetic flux of the permanent magnet of an odd-numbered rotor magnetic pole part is guided into a soft magnetic inner cylindrical part. The axial end faces of the inner cylindrical part and the axial magnetic path member protrude from the rotor core in the axial direction and face a stationary magnetic path member with a small gap therebetween. The amount of magnetic flux of the magnet, which the permanent magnet applies to a stator core is adjusted by an excitation current of an excitation coil wound on the stationary magnetic path member.

A machine with reduced detent torque is thus obtained with grooves (40) aligned parallel to the axis, in which the energiser windings (29) can be placed with a high filling factor and without production difficulties and without the risk of damaging the winding insulation.

Ionization tendency of zinc is larger than that of iron composing the permanent magnet, and the permanent magnet is difficult to be rusted owing to the sacrificial anticorrosion. Consequently, anticorrosion of the permanent magnet disposed between the claw-shaped magnetic poles is improved.

This makes it possible to reduce the space and the cost while inputting/outputting the electric power through different channels and allowing arbitrary design of the electric power distribution.
