摘要： A method of manufacturing a gusseted pinch bag from polypropylene. A sheet or seamless tube of polypropylene is provided. The sheet is preferably comprised of one or more layers of axially and/or biaxially oriented polypropylene. Perforation lines in a pinch pattern are formed in the sheet or tube. Preferably a laser forms a series of small, closely spaced holes in the sheet along the perforation line. The laser heats the plastic surrounding the holes, causing the polypropylene molecules between the holes to lose their orientation. Thus, the polypropylene in the perforation line between the holes is substantially weakened. If a sheet is used, it is folded into a gusseted tube and the edges are sealed together to make a tube. If a seamless tube is used, the tube is gusseted. In either case, a lateral force is then applied to the terminal tube, breaking the perforation line and separating the terminal tube from the sheet. The bottom end of the tube is then sealed, thereby forming a bag.

摘要： A filtered cigarette possesses at least one breakable capsule in its filter element. The filter element can possess a central cavity extending from the cigarette tobacco rod towards the middle of the filter element. The central cavity may be defined by an inner filter portion. The inner filter portion can be surrounded by an outer filter portion comprised of filter tow material that is generally permeable to the smoke generated by the cigarette. At least one breakable capsule is disposed in the central cavity of the filter element. The breakable capsules are spherical in shape, and are composed of a gelatin outer shell that encloses a payload of triglycerides and flavoring agents. The breakable capsules are adapted to rupture in response to pressure applied by the smoker to the outside region of the filter element.

摘要： A process of producing a cigarette filter comprises the steps of assembly a filter segment comprising a hollow tube with a filter plug at one end thereof and a space adjacent the plug. The filter segment is horizontally positioned, and the space is partially filled with a predetermined amount of particulate filter material by applying vacuum to the end filter plug to thereby drawn the particulate material into the space. An elongate filter plug is horizontally positioned in alignment with and adjacent to the filled filter segment, and the filled filter segment and the elongate filter plug are moved together until that plug abuts the particulate filter material to thereby seal the space and the particulate material therein. The formed filter is ultimately joined to a wrapped tobacco rod.
