    • A guide is provided for guiding a first drill and a second drill while boring a door with holes for receiving a lock. The guide includes a first element, a second element, a third element, a first threaded bolt and a second threaded bolt. The first element guides the first drill and abuts a first face of the door. The second element guides the first drill and abuts a second face of the door. The third element abuts a side of the door. The first threaded bolt is connected between the first element and the third element so that the first element is movable on the first face of the door. The first threaded bolt is operable for driving the first element against the first face of the door. The second threaded bolt is connected between the second element and the third element so that the second element is movable on the second face of the door. The second threaded bolt is operable for driving the second element against the second face of the door.

    • A roof core-drilling apparatus and drilling guide adapted to be used in combination with a rotary drive means in which the mandrel portion of the roof core-cutter operates not only to mechanically connect the saw body to the drive means for cutting the core, but also as a plunger for ejecting the core from the saw body when the drilling operation is completed. The core cutting guide provides a stable platform for guiding the roof core cutter during operation. The saw teeth on the outer edge of the saw body are angled to cut through the work material in such a manner as to facilitate the ejection of the core material from the saw body after the roof coring operation is complete.

    • A drill bushing alignment assembly attachable to a fixture and a method for repositioning a drill bushing with respect to the fixture. The drill bushing alignment assembly has a body defining a body hole having a body hole diameter; a bushing having a bushing diameter and defining a bushing hole; a plurality of positioners for securing the bushing within the body hole such that a position of the bushing within the body hole is adjustable; and a plurality of removable fasteners for detachably securing the body to the fixture through substantially equidistant holes defined correspondingly in both the fixture and the body. The holes are preferably patterned such that the holes in the fixture and body align even when the body is rotated relative to the fixture. The body hole may be offset from a center of the body to provide a greater range of adjustment of the drill bushing position.

    • A fixture and method allows a mechanic to add a key to a crankshaft without removal of the crankshaft from the engine. The keying fixture has a main body having an axial internal bore for mounting over a crankshaft. The main body includes a sealing portion for forming a seal between the engine and the keying fixture to prevent debris from the keying operation from entering the engine. The main body also includes a bushing mounting portion for mounting drilling/reaming bushings of a desired size in the keying fixture to provide for precise radial alignment of a correspondingly sized drill bit or reamer used for creating a radial key bore.

    • A kit for repairing a worn out of round aperture. The kit includes a template which is later utilized as a part of the repair. In a first embodiment, the template is precisely located by means of utilizing the bottom of the aperture which does not become out of round as does the upper portion thereof and is fixedly attached to the structure containing the out of round aperture. A sacrificial pin is inserted in the out of round aperture, centered therein by means of the bottom non-out of round portion and adhered thereto. A drill is then passed through the boring guide enlarging the out of round aperture to a true round bore and the sacrificial pin is drilled out at the same time. The boring guide is then removed and an enlarged precision pin is inserted into the re-bored aperture. The new pin is fixedly secured in the new aperture by any convenient means such as peening between the pin outer surface and the adjacent structure. In a second embodiment, a similar process using the boring guide and drill to enlarge an out of precision aperture and installing an insert to return the aperture to the original internal diameter.

    • A signal transmitter for transmitting control signals is fitted to a key element so that signals can be transmitted to an operating device with which the key is used. Illustrative is the fitting of an automobile ignition key to a fob housing in which the signal transmitter is carried. The head part of an ignition key is subjected to a punching operation to shear off a first portion of the head part leaving a remaining head part portion with wings disposed laterally at opposite sides of the key shank part. Holes are drilled in the remaining head part portion and the remaining head part portion is received in an anchorage in the housing with the key shank extending through a notch in the housing. The remaining head part is then secured to the housing with screws passing through the lateral wing openings and into anchorage posts formed in the housing. A punch unit is provided for modifying a regular ignition key head part and the punch unit has a station at which the modified key is held so that the openings in the lateral wings can be drilled at specified locations related to the locations of the housing anchorage posts. The housing includes two housing parts, one which holds the transmitter and the anchorage area and a second which is assembled together with the first to constitute a closed housing.
