    • An improved multiple-pole, miniature relay includes a housing with a coil, a core, an attached field piece, armature and armature return spring positioned therein. The armature engages a lifter which is restrained from movement within the housing except in a direction parallel to the axis of the core. The lifter is connected with a plurality of pivotal contact blades. One or both ends of the blades have contacts thereon adapted to engage with contact pins depending upon the mode of pivotal movement. Electric contact is maintained through the blades by mounting the blades upon additional contact pins.

    • An electromagnetic contactor utilizing a pair of wire springs as resilient means for providing the returning force to the movable element including movable contact pieces and movable iron core of the electromagnetic device. The wire springs are set as compressed symmetrically with respect to the center of the movable element and inclined with respect to movable direction of the element, so that the returning force will be of a negative characteristic wherein the force gradually reduces as the movable element is attracted to fixed core. The arrangement is applicable both to vertically and horizontally split types of the contactor housing and a C-shaped wire spring is most preferable as the resilient means.

    • A method of manufacturing an armature assembly for a solenoid includes slidably engaging a first abutment member with a first part of a link member. The link member is provided with an abutment intermediate its ends which limits relative sliding movement between the link member and the first abutment member in one direction. A compression spring is then engaged with the first part of the link member so that the spring encircles the first part of the link member. The spring is compressed in a longitudinal direction so that one end of the spring engages the first abutment member and the first abutment member engages the abutment while the free end of the first part of the link member protrudes from the other end of the spring. A second abutment member is then engaged with the portion of the first part of the link member which protrudes from the spring the second abutment member engaging a stop member at the free end of the first part of the link member. The spring is then released so that the second abutment member is urged into engagement with the stop member, and the first part of the link member is then inserted into the hollow armature of the solenoid and the first abutment member is secured to the armature.
