摘要： During the production of consumable liquids such as milk, soup, and juice, the liquid consumable may be transferred from one location to another location through a fluid conduit. For example, a consumable liquid may be transferred from a storage tank to another destination through piping. At the end of the process, the piping may be purged with a flushing fluid to push the liquid consumable remaining in the piping to the end destination, thus preventing the volume of liquid remaining in the piping from being wasted. To control the flushing processing, fluid flowing through the piping may be fluorometrically analyzed to determine a concentration of product in the fluid. The flushing liquid can then be controlled based on the determined concentration. For example, the supply of flushing liquid may be terminated when the concentration of product falls below a threshold, indicating the flushing liquid is diluting the liquid consumable.

摘要： Techniques are provided for operating a reactor during a catalyst transition period. The instantaneous reaction rate during a catalyst transition period can be determined using real-time measured process variables, and material balance calculations to provide an instantaneous reaction rate in approximately real time. According to certain embodiments, a material balance can be performed on the reactor system using a continuous ideal stirred tank reactor to determine the fractions of each type of catalyst that are present in the reactor, as well as the overall weight percent of catalyst in the reactor. A controller can then calculate the overall instantaneous reaction rate based on the respective catalyst fractions and the overall weight percent of catalyst in the reactor. The catalyst feed rate can then be adjusted based on the determined instantaneous reaction rate to maintain the instantaneous reaction rate within desired limits during a catalyst transition period.

摘要： A method for optimizing a shift event in a vehicle includes designating a clutch to be used as an oncoming clutch or an offgoing clutch in the shift event before executing the shift event, and processing a plurality of input values through a state observer to thereby determine, as an output value of the state observer, an estimated slip speed of the designated clutch. The method includes using a proportional-integral control module for the designated clutch (a clutch PI) to close the control loop on the estimated slip speed from the state observer, thereby smoothing a switching between state space equations in the state observer, and executing the shift event. A vehicle includes a transmission, an engine, at least one traction motor, and a control system configured for executing the above method.
