The method comprises: submerging the component in an inspection liquid disposed within a pressure vessel; changing the pressure within the pressure vessel; withdrawing the component from the inspection liquid; and determining whether the cells of the component are filled with the inspection liquid. A corresponding inspection apparatus is also described.

摘要： Predictive monitoring of a rotational machine of a cooling apparatus is provided by integrating a predictive vibration analyzer into an electronics rack being cooled by the cooling apparatus. The integrating includes associating at least one sensor of the predictive vibration analyzer with the rotational machine of the cooling apparatus. The analyzer includes a predetermined harmonics table of one or more base operational frequencies and associated rotational speed harmonics for the rotational machine indicative of one or more rotational faults, and the predictive vibration analyzer automatically evaluates vibration of the rotational machine during operation of the machine by analyzing vibration data therefor, and automatically ascertains, based on the vibration data, and the predetermined harmonics table, whether the rotational machine is predicted to possess a rotational fault of the one or more rotational faults.

In one embodiment, a method for ultrasonic inspection of a turbine component can include mounting at least one array of transducer elements to the turbine component, (a) separately pulsing a transducer element of the at least one array of transducer elements to transmit a signal to the turbine component, (b) capturing reflected signals from the turbine component at each transducer element in the at least one array of transducer elements, repeating (a) and (b) for each of the other transducer elements in the at least one array of transducer elements, maintaining a constant relative position of the array of transducer elements with respect to the turbine component, analyzing the captured reflected signals using a computer, generating an image of the interior volume of the turbine component by reconstruction of the captured reflected signals and based at least in part on detecting an anomaly in the image of the interior volume of the turbine component, identifying at least one defect or failure in the turbine component.

The process also includes determining a quality of the joint based, in part, on a difference between a strength of the ultrasonic beam directed at the joint and a strength of a portion of the ultrasonic beam that passed through the joint thickness.

摘要： A test apparatus for testing of a stop mechanism on a saw includes a support arm movable relative to a blade of the saw from a first position to a second position. The test apparatus also includes a simulation member coupled to the support arm. In the first position, the first end of the simulation member is offset from a portion of the blade of the saw, and in the second position, the first end of the simulation member is adapted to be in contact with the portion of the blade of the saw. The test apparatus further includes circuitry operatively connected to the simulation member to replicate an electrical property of a human finger such that contact between the blade and the first end of the simulation member triggers the stop mechanism of the saw.
