摘要： An apparatus for use in grinding the needle tip and seat in the needle housing of a fuel valve includes a grinding pin (1) and a holder (4) for the grinding pin. The holder (4) is shaped and dimensioned to be guidingly received within the needle bore (45) of the needle housing. The grinding pin (1) has a first conical end (2) adapted for the seat, and a second hollow conical end (3) adapted for the needle tip. Advantageously the grinding pin is a disposable grinding pin made of hardened steel. A fixture for fixing the needle housing (34) when using the apparatus is also described.

摘要： A polishing apparatus in which one of two workpieces to be polished or abraded which contact each other at respective arcuate or spherical surfaces, is placed on a fixed base and turned or fixed in a horizontal plane with the other workpiece held under pressure by a retainer provided on a gate type frame which can be swung around the center of curvature of the contact surfaces of the two workpieces by a swinging unit capable of varying the range of swinging movement of the gate-type frame. The center of the swinging movement of this frame can be varied by changing the position of two pivot-connected block units vertically in a stepless manner and the position of the retainer to a reference axis can be varied. This enables the apparatus to be applied to workpieces having arbitrary curved surfaces to be polished and of different dimensions.

The tool employs a journaling member which precisely positions an arbor and grinding disc assembly axially for engagement of the face of the disc with the flat bearing surface. The abrasive disc has an outer periphery which is radially inward of the ends of an adjoining journaling member end so as to prevent contact between the abrasive disc and the cylindrical bearing seats. An elongate drive rod provides a connection between a rotary drive means and the arbor in applications involving limited access to the tool when installed.

摘要： The resurfacer includes an arbor attached to a grindstone. The arbor may be connected to a power tool to rotate the grindstone at a high rate of speed. A housing is disposed over the arbor and connected to a threaded adaptor. The size of the adaptor may be varied to conform to the valve being resurfaced. The adaptor threadedly engages the valve at which time the grindstone may be forced into engagement with the valve gasket seat. Also, small windows are incorporated in the adaptor walls in order to allow viewing of the grinding progress and venting of the grinding area to prevent pressure build-up.

摘要： An apparatus for supporting the cylinders of an internal combustion engine in a predetermined order during the grinding of the valve seats thereof. The cylinders are clamped to a supporting member which is then rotated so that the cylinders are suspended therefrom. A tank containing an oil or other liquid is then raised so that the valve seats in the cylinders are immersed in the liquid. The valve seats are then ground by a suitable grinding tool. After the valve seats are ground the valves which are supported adjacent to the cylinder from which they were removed are replaced in the cylinders and a valve retaining device is attached to the member supporting the cylinders. The valve retaining device is provided with an adjustable valve engaging means that extends into the cylinders and presses the valves against their seats. The liquid tank is lowered and the cylinder support is turned so that the cylinders are upright. The valve springs are then attached to the exposed portions of the valve stems.
