    • A broadcasting receiving apparatus includes a tuner to receive a broadcasting signal and output a reception signal selected therefrom, a demodulation portion to output a video audio signal by demodulating the reception signal from the tuner, an encryption portion to output an encrypted video audio signal by encrypting the video audio signal, a buffer portion to store one of the video audio signal from the demodulation portion and the encrypted video audio signal from the encryption portion, and a control portion to perform control in such a manner that, when the video audio signal needs to be encrypted in the encryption portion, the video audio signal is transferred in the form of first files each having a first capacity (m [KByte]), encrypted on a file-by-file basis in the encryption portion, and stored into a memory region in the buffer portion successively in units of the first capacity, and when the video audio signal need not be encrypted in the encryption portion, the video audio signal is transferred in the form of plural second files each having a second capacity (n [KByte], (m>n)) smaller than the first capacity on a file-by-file basis, and stored into the memory region in the buffer portion successively in units of the second capacity. It is thus possible to provide a receiving apparatus capable of preventing unauthorized copying of a video audio signal committed by tampering with flag information indicating the need for encryption.

    • An improved method and apparatus for maintaining concealment for a scrambled signal when frequency pre-emphasis is used to defeat the scrambling. The pre-emphasis may be synthesized with high pass or peaking circuitry. More commonly however the pre-emphasis is available in television sets with a fine tuning control. By adjusting the fine tuning control to cause purposely mistuning off center, a peaking effect is generated which is used to counter the scrambled signal. The application discloses one embodiment which uses de-emphasis to counter the peaking effect. In another embodiment, signals added in the vicinity of the horizontal blanking interval causes the peaking effect to enhance these added signals over stable edges of the video signal. Since these added signals are position modulated for example, the television's sync circuits and horizontal oscillator circuits will cause scan circuits to generate position modulation. Thus adding a specific type of signal causes the peaking circuit to enlarge the added signals more than the other parts of the video signal for synchronization.

    • In typical prior art generational copy protection processes, a video tag signal is added to a watermarked and/or copy protected video signal to prevent the production of unauthorized second generation copies and the playback of illicit second generation copies. This application discloses a means for defeating the tag signal/watermark copy protection process. To this end, various embodiments are disclosed by which the tag signal is recovered, converted to a selected tag representation and is carried or stored in some manner, concurrently with the recording of a first generation copy of the video signal, which may or may not be tagless. The first generation copy is played back and the tag representation is converted to a regenerated tag signal which is selectively re-inserted in the reproduction of the first generation copy prior to recording a second generation copy, which now is playable.

    • Disclosed are a method and a device for image processing and a storage medium, and the method includes: cutting a first image to obtain at least two second images and first sequence information, wherein the first sequence information contains an order in which the at least two second images are spliced into the first image; rearranging the order contained in the first sequence information to obtain second sequence information containing an order in which the at least two second images are spliced into a third image; and splicing the at least two second images into the third image according to the second sequence information. With the disclosure, the original first image may be protected, because others cannot recover the first image from the third image via simple image processing technologies.
