    • A plug connector featuring shielding of the signal contacts that are arranged in a contact pattern of differential pairs and that form a contact group together with a shielding element surrounding same. The contact groups are arranged in rows and columns. Each shielding contact includes a shielding element and at least one shielding contact element. Each signal contact includes a blade element and a signal contact element. All shielding contact elements within a row are aligned in a straight line. Each of the signal contact elements of each differential pair are aligned in a straight line that forms a 45° angle with the straight line of the shielding contact elements within the row. An arrangement can be made from two such plug connectors and a circuit board, wherein the two plug connectors are rotated 90° relative to each other.

    • A connector includes a module and a housing that accommodates the module. The module includes multiple contacts each including a first contact part to contact a board, a second contact part to contact a connection object, and a body extending at angle from the first contact part to the second contact part; and a molded part insert-molded with the contacts arranged as inserts. The molded part covers a portion of the body part through a surface of the first contact part of each of the contacts facing toward the board. In each contact, a width of the portion of the body covered with the molded part is smaller than a width of a spring portion of the body. The spring portion is exposed from the molded part and supports the second contact part in such a manner as to allow its displacement.

    • A socket for selectively mounting on a board includes a housing and a latch. The housing includes a first side plate and a second side plate parallel to the first side plate. The first and second side plates define an elongated slot therebetween for reception of the board. The latch includes an axle, a body and a fastening portion. The axle is pivotably coupled to the housing at one end of the slot. The body has one end joined to the axle and the other end to the fastening portion. The fastening portion is constructed for engagement with the board. In addition, the lateral width of the body of the latch in the direction along the width of the first side plate is smaller than that of the axle in the same direction.

    • An electrical connector system includes a receptacle connector having a receptacle housing holding a plurality of receptacle signal contacts arranged in pairs carrying differential signals. The receptacle housing has a front face. The system includes a header connector coupled to the receptacle connector. The header connector includes a header housing holding a plurality of header signal contacts arranged in pairs carrying differential signals and mated with corresponding receptacle signal contacts. The header housing has a front face that opposes the front face of the receptacle housing when coupled thereto with a gap being defined between the front faces. Gap fillers are provided within the gap. The gap fillers are conductive and include deflectable spring fingers. The gap fillers provide impedance control for the header signal contacts along the gap.
