    • A contact clip for an insulated, multi-strand electric cable has first and second clip parts engaging one another. The first clip part has a receptacle for correctly positioning the cable and the second clip part has contact pins assigned to a strand of the cable, respectively. The contact pins pierce the cable insulation and electrically contact the strands of the cable. They are positioned transversely to a longitudinal cable direction adjacent to and at a spacing from one another. This spacing matches the strand spacing. The receptacle is wider than the cable in the transverse cable direction. A fitting member is inserted into the receptacle for determining a lateral position of the cable in the receptacle. A first contact pin, depending on the lateral position of the cable within the receptacle, either engages one of the strands of the cable or the fitting member.

    • A connection structure between a terminal and a flexible printed circuit body is provided, by which without soldering the terminal can excellently be electro-conductively connected to the flexible printed circuit body by a holding power generated when the terminal is inserted into a base.     • The invention is an electrical connection system that releasably connects the circuit paths of a flexible conductive circuit to a printed circuit board having a corresponding row of contacts, without the need for soldering, crimping or welding operations, or extensive preparation of the flexible circuit before connection. One embodiment has at least one spring contact formed in a cover; at least one rotatable cam; and a base with a circuit alignment window for initial alignment of a flexible conductive circuit introduced into the connector. The cover and base snap together to house the rotatable cam(s). The connection, when using at least one cam, is made by feeding the circuit into a slot in the cam, then rotating the cam to bring the circuit into contact with the spring contact which has a tapered insulation plane that pierces and peels back the dielectric covering of the conductive circuit to make a direct metal to metal, gas tight contact between the deflectable contact and the conductors of the conductive circuit. Wrapping the circuit around the cam during the connection process provides stability to the connection and takes strain off of the connection site, thereby providing a more stable and reliable connection.

    • An improved connector establishes an electrical connection between an external conductor and a planar conductor of an insulated flexible circuit board, utilizing an automatically deployed cutting mechanism for removing insulative material overlying the flexible circuit conductor when the electrical connection is established. The connector includes an insulative housing having a slot for receiving an interconnect stub of the flexible circuit, and a compliantly mounted cutting mechanism electrically coupled to the external conductor. The cutting mechanism extends partially into the slot, and is compliantly displaced away from the slot as the interconnect stub is inserted into the slot. When the interconnect stub is partially extracted from the slot, the cutting mechanism forcibly engages the stub, removing a portion of the overlying insulative material, and electrically contacting the flexible circuit conductor to establish the electrical connection between it and the external conductor.
