摘要： Methods and devices for forming an anastomosis between hollow bodies utilize magnetic force to couple anastomotic securing components and connect the lumens of the hollow bodies. End-to-side, side-to-side and end-to-end anastomoses can be created without using suture or any other type of mechanical fasteners, although such attachment means may be used in practicing some aspects of the invention. The securing components have the ability to produce a magnetic field and may include materials or assemblies. A component may also be used to form a port into the lumen of a vessel, the component being attached to the vessel by mechanical and/or magnetic means. Magnetic components may include means for concentrating the magnetic flux between respective components to increase the attraction force, thereby enhancing the security of the anastomosis. Also, rather than form a port communicating with a lumen of a vessel or other cavity, the components may have an occlusion surface and be used to close an opening in tissue, e.g., an atrial septal defect.

摘要： A magnetic lock device comprises two parts, one of which provides the magnetic attraction (referred to as "part A") and the other of which is magnetically attracted by the part A (referred to as "part B"). The part A includes a permanent magnet having a center bore, a first ferromagnetic plate, and a nonmagnetic enclosure having a center bore aligned with the center bore of the permanent magnet for packaging the permanent magnet and first ferromagnetic plate. The part B includes a second ferromagentic plate that can engage the first ferromagnetic plate. Specifically, the nonmagnetic enclosure has a depressed surface on the side on which the second ferromagnetic plate engages the first ferromagnetic plate and which provides a sliding surface for the second ferromagnetic plate to be guided directly toward the center bores of the enclosure and permanent magnet. A magnetic gap is defined between the enclosure and permanent magnet, without or with an intervening annular backup member which is disposed between the enclosure and permanent magnet. The improvement according to the present invention provides advantages in reduced weight and simplified construction.

摘要： A magnetic fastener comprising a permanent magnet member having first and second sides of opposite polarity, a first magnetic pole plate attached at the first side of the magnet member, a second magnetic pole plate removably attachable on the second side of the magnet member, the pole plates being magnetically attracted to the magnet member and to each other through the magnet member, the permanent magnet member being a dispersion of hard magnetic powder in a matrix of synthetic resin, and the first magnetic pole plate being integrally attached to the permanent magnet member by the permanent magnet member itself. The permanent magnet member may be comprised of a molded member made by casting wherein the first magnetic pole plate is at least partly incorporated in the molded magnetic member or may be embedded therein. A hole is provided through the permanent magnet member extending between the first and second sides, and projections on the first and second pole plates extend into the hole so that the projections are magnetically attracted to each other and to the corresponding pole plate. The permanent magnet member being comprised of hard magnetic powder bound together by a synthetic resin and the first pole plate being incorporated as a part of the permanent magnet itself obviates the necessity for a protective covering or casing over the permanent magnet member and a reduction in the magnetic reluctance between the permanent magnet member and the first and second pole plates.

The first magnet pair may provide an attractive magnetic force that biases the electronic device in the closed position, while the second magnet pair may provide a repelling magnetic force that partially counteracts the biasing from the attractive magnetic force as a gap between the first portion and the second portion decreases, and a pole size of the second magnet pair is smaller than a pole size of the first magnet pair.
