    • A chip card holder for holding a chip card includes a fixing member and a sliding member. The fixing member defines a receiving space to receive the chip card. The fixing member includes two latching portions at two opposite sides thereof. Each latching portion includes a bent plate and a supporting plate. The bent plate defines a slot. The supporting plate is positioned above the receiving space. The sliding member includes a main plate and an operating portion at one end of the main plate. Two sliding blocks are formed on two sides of the main plate correspondingly. Each sliding block is slidably engaged in a corresponding slot. The supporting plates support the main plate.

    • An apparatus and method for de-bowing personalized cards which includes a first contact member. The first contact member can be positioned for contacting a personalized card received by the apparatus and for displacing the personalized card against a bow occurring therein. The first contact member contacts and displaces a portion of the personalized card on one side of the personalized card and at an area that is generally centered horizontally and vertically. A second contact member can be supported by the frame for contacting the personalized card on a side opposite the first contact member. The second contact member being arranged and configured to contact an opposite side of the personalized card at a plurality of positions proximate the perimeter of the personalized card. In this manner, the first and second contact members cooperate to bend substantially the entire surface area of the personalized card against the occurring bow.

The card connector for an IC card is constructed into a hollow flat housing formed of a substrate and a metal sheet cover combined therewith, having the anti-floating mechanism for suppressing the floating-up of the IC card and the erroneous insert prevention mechanism for preventing the IC card from being inserted in such a manner that the rear end is directed forward.

As the card is held by the carrier rollers, further, the card carriage control unit intermittently carries the card so as to be taken in by the main body. Even in case an unauthorized card reader is attached to the front surface of the insertion port, therefore, the card data are not read out without authorization.
