    • A door integrated lighted mirror system of the present invention. In the best mode, the invention includes a door mounted on a structure at least one hinge; a mirror mounted on the door; first and second illumination elements mounted on the door on opposite sides of the mirror; and means for controlling the light output by the illumination elements. In the illustrative embodiment, the illumination elements are light emitting diode arrays with outputs filtered by diffusers. A control system is mounted in the door for controlling the light output by the illumination elements. In one embodiment, the light output by the illumination elements is controlled by a first switch mounted in a hinge of the door and a second switch mounted in a door knob on the door. The control system allows the user to control the color and intensity profile of the diode arrays mounted on the door. A camera may be included in the system along with a wireless transceiver in the control system to send images of the user wearing virtual clothing from a database displayed on an integrated touchscreen and electronic display to a friend or family member via the user's smartphone.

    • An automated reflective device for monitoring a baby in a bassinet enables viewing the interior of a bassinet, such as a baby, from an outside vantage point. A clamp detachably attaches the device to a mounting surface on the bassinet. The device includes a reflector that is oriented in a horizontal, vertical, swiveling, and telescoping direction to provide an optimal line of site into the bassinet. The reflector has a housing and a reflective panel made of a non-glass substrate overlaid with a reflective coating. The reflective panel is oriented in relation to the bassinet, so as to reflect the interior contents of the bassinet from an external vantage point. A motor powers an actuator in the housing. The actuator adjustably moves the reflector. An LED illuminates a cool-white light inside the bassinet and on the reflective surface for enhanced viewing. A remote control operates the actuator and LED.

    • A light bar assembly for use in combination with a mirror. In the illustrative embodiment, the assembly includes a housing; a frame mounted within the housing; one or more light emitting elements mounted on the frame in the housing; a power supply mounted within the housing; a controller mounted within the housing for controlling the light emitting elements; and a transceiver for communicating control signals to the controller. The light emitting elements are light emitting diodes and the housing includes a diffuser. The controller includes a microprocessor and the transceiver includes a wireless transceiver. The controller is adapted to effect a gradient light distribution of the light emitting elements. In a specific embodiment, the assembly further includes a mechanism, such as one or more magnets, for manually attaching the assembly to and manually detaching the assembly from a surface. In the best mode, the inventive system includes an application adapted to run on a remote computing platform, such as a smartphone, for communicating control signals to the controller. In an alternative embodiment, an optical sensor mounted in the housing and the controller is programmed with software for self-adjusting the light emitted by the light emitting elements in response to the output from the optical sensor. In one mode, the power supply includes a first coil for inductive coupling, a second coil mounted on a surface onto which the assembly is mounted and a rechargeable battery.

    • The invention relates to a mirror for personal use, with a lighting system for illuminating at least part of a person (9) being situated in front of the mirror. According to the invention, a position detector for detecting the position of the person (9) in front of the mirror is provided. Further, the lighting system comprises multiple lighting elements which can be actuated independently from each other in dependence of the signal of the position detector. It is especially preferred that the mirror is comprised of an array (8) of OLEDs (1) which can be selectively actuated to function as a mirror element or as a lighting element, respectively, in dependence of the position of the person (9) in front of the mirror. Further, it is preferred that these OLEDs (1) also act as capacitive proximity sensors for the position detector. Thus, a versatile mirror with a good mirror image without blinding is provided.

    • A light system for a vanity having a horizontal counter top with a wash basin positioned therein. Mounted on a wall, adjacent the counter top, is a mirror for reflecting a person's image. Along an upper edge of the mirror is a horizontal row of lights, similar to those typically mounted above conventional vanities. At least two light housings angularly depend from the lower surface of the counter top, each including an interior chamber, an open top and an outer wall. Received within the interior chamber is a compact fluorescent lamp removably mounted within a conventional light socket. An opening is formed on the counter top, immediately above the open top of each housing, for receiving a tempered-glass panel. Accordingly, activating the angled lamps and the conventional overhead lights illuminates a user's entire face thereby allowing the user to gauge the appearance of makeup in daylight conditions.
